Hi all!
Just want to say that nearly 7 months post tick bite, I have rcvd positive test results from Igenex for IG M (the one that indicates acute, active infection). All of my labs conducted locally have been negative.
I am feeling glad. Not glad to have Lyme but glad to have a diagnosis! I'm NOT crazy! Its so weird to be happy about having a "disease" but I was getting a bit tired of wondering if it REALLY was all in my head??!
I know I may have months, if not longer, of therapy ahead of me but I am so fortunate to have 1) a diagnosis 2) good, general health and 3) a local LLMD!
I had 3 weeks of Doxy a few months ago and now have had 5 weeks on Biaxin. I will do another month on Biaxin and then she wants to go to Doxy bc its preferred (I'm going to do some research though bc I believe I read that Biaxin is one of a few abx that crosses the blood-barrier in organs that tend to harbor Lyme bacteria).
She wants me to get a better probiotic, a more natural multivitamin and to take some immune boosters like C and bio-flavanoids. I am doing the detox baths and lemon water and will add in some of your other suggestions.
My doctor feels my prognosis is good bc of my age, general health, and treatment occuring within months, not years, of the bite.
I am now looking into tick-proofing my yard in order to protect my family. Any ideas on that one?
