I had a cd57 test done about 2 years ago. It was 250. At First the practitioner said I did NOT have lyme and had the highest she'd ever seen, that this was good. Then a couple of months later, she said it was "too high" and therefore she thought I did have lyme - that it was upregulating my system.

Needless to say, I did not trust her swaying her opinion, and I stopped seeing her. 2 years later, I'm exploring the lyme route with a different LLND.

I know you want the cd57 to be at least 100, and the reference range is up to 360. Anyone have insight to this high result?

I don't really understand the whole cd57 thing that well...all I know is mine is 11 and my doctor said that's the lowest she's ever seen. I know this number is supposed to indicate how active the Lyme is, so maybe it's possible you were tested a time when the Lyme wasn't as active or something? I've also heard that it's not the most reliable indicator of Lyme or how sick you are....and with every usual lab result for Lyme there are always exceptions. I definitely agree that it's a good idea to stop seeing a doctor you don't trust. Trust is so important.

My CD57 was 150 and my LLMD told me that was probably because I had bartonella. She said bartonella throws off the CD57 test which is why it is not an accurate test. Don't know if that helps you at all though.

Many LLMD's are not putting much stock into the CD57 anymore.

Some of their sickest patients have a very high CD57, while others are doing very well with a low score.

Some thought has been if you have a high CD57, co-infections could be the major issue.

I know at my sickest I was 360, 2 years after treatment, 252 and now 5 years later I am 450!

My CD57 was 100 when I tested 3 months after starting ABX. Then six months into treatment, it was 43. At first with a score of 100 I was worried that maybe I didn't really have lyme because I thought it would of been lower. Why it went down to 43 and not up after treatment confuses me however, I'm not dwelling on it like I was...

Everywhere I looked, I found the article written by Ginger Savely to answer the questions about what a CD57 tests was.
