Hi Everyone

i know i brought this up already but forgot where it went????

nothing like having a clear head.........when I find it you all will be first to know.

Anyway, I am finding there is a distinct correlation between how sick I amd feeling and how lousy I am sleeping according to where I am living.

I just moved back east after leaving an apartment in souther Az that had MOLD.

Now I am in a house in upstate NY and it has MOLD. The house looks all renovated, new kitchen, new bathroom, bamboo floors and the windows
and front proch are molding and falling apart.

i just looked behind a radaitor under a window and see BLACK mold. just about 4 inch line of it but that's enough to tell me there is plenty more behind that.

There used to be an AC in that window. usually those walls get mold inside.

where ever you had a AC in window check it out.

Anyway, I am looking into this place in florida that claims to have a mold detox IV program for 4 weeks for ONLY $9800.

But they aren't telling me what is in the IV. does anyone know about mold mycotoxins in brain and who treats it.

this doctor claims that the reason people are not healing from lyme abx treatment is MOLD

any thoughts?? I hope you are all googling all aobut mold and checking your homes and jobs because or us it is deadly on top of the lyme.

PS I just took the blood test to see if I have the lyme/mold genetic factor.

I don't know anything about florida, but I did see a doctor in maryland for mold mycotoxins many years ago. I still believe he was on the ball with his ideas, but there was a great deal of miscommunication between this doctor and my mom (who was taking charge of all this for me because I was still so young) and he didn't ever plan on keeping me on as a patient...supposedly my own doctor I NJ wAs supposed to take over or something...I don't remember much of what happened but I know the whole idea was to bind toxins to something otherwise they don't come out. In my case I was using cholysteramine powder.

Like I said I don't remember much from this time and I don't know if I stopped because it wasn't working or because of other factors (I'm kicking myself for not being as informed or aware then as I am now), but I do actually plan on bringing this up with my LLMD at my next appointment as it seems to be the missing piece of my puzzle. I've been exposed to A LOT of mold...and I did heavy metal testing with this doctor and supposedly I had problems with that too.

I wasn't aware that there was a blood test for that...do you mind telling me where you did that test/through what lab?

Lord please do not spend that kind of money for Mold Detox. Please google Richie Shoemaker (I have no affiliation with him) and read up on Mold.

I believe he is the Dr. that BorderLyme is referring to. There are others ways to beat mold and not spend that kind of money. Does not happen overnight :(

I live in Florida, and would not recommend coming for the IV treatment. Yes, Mold can complicate getting well from Lyme, as so many other things can as well.

Have you been tested for Mold? Have you had the C4a testing done?

Okay,it seems I should have never mentioned the expense of this 4 week detox without including ALL the info of what is entailed.

It look like by saying the cost the whole important point of MOLD for us is
super very important and this I know first hand from my condition always
getting worse when exposed to mold.

The real truth is that mold is hard to avoid especially if you are living on low income.

But the point here is that mold for lyme patients is deadly.

I am really posting this for all the people who are really suffering after doing tons of ABX and spent years.

and of course everyone else to be aware of.

If I had not PAID for my treatments that I did get I would probably be in a mental ward right now or had a stroke for sure.
I don't have big health insurance and nobody takes it anyway.

Lymers do have to think all over the box inside and out.

everyone is different. I hope this helps. Any of you who have researched any treatments for detoxing of heavy metals and ozone therapy and all kind of chelation know that it costs money.

Others are not in bad enough shape to have to go for this. I was and now am looking seriously into this mold thing and I am waiting for my test reults so will keep you posted

also I would love to hear those other ways to beat mold.

From what I have learned it lodges itself into the brain just as lyme does and
the cholesterol drug is like putting bandaid on elephant but I will certianly try it.

does anyone know how to get rid of mold or know the seriousness of mold in brain and gut.?

and also Concrobium is a spray of for bigger jobe is comes in gallons for floggers.
but it has good success.

Everyone has mold or some mold but black mold hiding in the walls or behind tiles for someone with this "mold gene" is like anthrax.

Treatment Options
There are a wide variety of treatment options for mold exposure. Genetics, finances, circumstances, and individual physical needs play a role in determining the best option. The following is an overview and is designed to stimulate further research rather than suggest a specific protocol.

Drug Options:

Cholestyramine (CSM) is commonly prescribed for mold exposure. This is a bile acid sequestrant, which binds bile in the gastrointestinal tract to prevent its reabsorption. It works as a mycotoxin binding agent. CSM can be compounded to contain no sugar. (One pharmacy which does this is Hopkington Pharmacy.) When taking cholestyramine it is important to take it 2 hours before or after any nutritional supplements, as it will bind these as well.

Activated charcoal and bentonite clay are two natural binding agents and often taken with CSM.

Anti-fungal drugs. These include the plyenes, the triazoles and imidazoles, allylamines and more. Nystatin is an example of an anti-fungal drug. Anti-fungal drugs can be taken in nasal spray form.

Low-dose Naltrexone. Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist. Low-dose Naltrexone (LDN) has been shown to be effective in treating immunologically-related disorders.

To find a doctor, check the list of physicians on the American Academy of Environmental Medicine website. The level of knowledge regarding toxic mold varies. Two other possibilities include: 1. The American Board of Environmental Medicine, which is currently working on an online list of physicians, and 2. The Institute for Functional Medicine.

Natural Options (often integrated with conventional medical therapies):

Garlic, Oil of Oregano, Pau D'arco, Olive Leaf Extract, Caprylic Acid (found in coconuts), Barberry, and Grapefruit Seed Extract are some of the natural anti-fungals.

Glutathione therapy is often vital to recovery.

Skin Remedies:

Rashes often appear during mold exposure, as well as during the de-tox process.

Ketoconazole cream is a topical anti-fungal cream. Other skin remedies include tea tree oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, grapefruit seed extract (diluted).

Charcoal soap can be used as a de-tox agent. It can be combined with ketaconazole shampoo lather.

Epsom salt baths are helpful.

Anti-Fungal Diet:

One goal of an anti-fungal diet is to starve the fungus, thereby halting the cycle that often occurs. Sugars and carbs feed the fungus. Chlorophyll does the opposite. Green foods are therefore effective anti-fungals. Alkaline diets incorporate a similar goal. Microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and yeasts thrive in an acidic environment but do not thrive in an alkaline environment.

Some chlorophyll-rich foods include spirulina, chlorella, and wheat grass.

Bucci I thought it was you that was talking about molds and lyme.... Yes your right!! My lyme dr and his collegues are looking
into this and have already test 10 lyme patients and 9 came back with an enormous amount of mold toxins (mycotoxins). So
far he is working with a lab that just came up with a new urine test to test levels of mold. And another infectious disease dr whom
figured this out with her patients that are not getting better after IV's and orals. My cd57 is at a 28 and that is after being treated
with IV...although I felt better on it, never got over that hump. Of course with the Lyme, Babesia, Epstien Barr, XMRV, and now mold.

He really thinks he has hit on something big, so far the patients that have taken the anit-fungal meds for mold have made a, and these are his words coming from the collegues he is working with made a DRASTIC improvement.

Have to get rid of the mold inorder to get the lyme....I was very surprises when I saw all the symptoms for molds....So many and so
like lyme.

I will keep everyone posted if this test comes back for the mold....

Interesting conversation - we've been posting why some folks with Lyme have very low CD57s yet some (like me) have normal levels (mine tested 8 months apart at 235 and 214, respectively). Maybe it's a mold connection? I really have no issues with mold other than the minor sneezing and the like if in a room full of it. Plus, maybe that explains why, even though I had a ton of Lyme (Bb) in me - 3x a typical case, I was still able to function reasonably well. It wasn't fun and I had very disturbing symptoms, but I was able to do things that many others seem to have not. My LLMD joked that I must have "good protoplasm" since I was not more severely affected (again, I FELT badly affected but I was never bed ridden and the like even when some are with 1/3rd of the level of Bb I had). Mold may be the key...and make work in conjuntion with the TBIs to bring down the CD57 number. Being a runner, I do have chronic athletes foot (tinea pedis which is afungus but this is not the mold of the mycotoxin variety, is it?). Just conjecture but interesting nonetheless.

Before testing for Lyme, my LLMD said that my symptoms sounded like mold or lyme (meaning the mold symptoms alone could cause all of these issues). My Western Blot came bake with a few positive strands, so he did diagnose me with Lyme, but in the back of my head, I wonder if it could all be mold. I'm pretty sure we have mold in our home, and need to get it looked at.

my house has mold im sure of it from the check list yep its here. Its weird that my whole body feels toxic and my head is so
full, when I cough it feels like someone is hitting me in the head with a hammer and just to touch it, it feels bruised, my ears
drain this watery substance, I can literally take a q-tip and both sides will be soaked from this crap, I can lay on one side of my head
or the other and feel it squishing around in there working its way out.

yazzer..I hope mold is the answer cuz I want my mind back, and to see such a drastic change in those who are already taking
the antifungal, its amazing. Another scary part is that one of the mycotoxins he is testing for can cause cancer...WHAT??

Here are the names of those mycotoxins: aflatoxin, ochratoxin, tricothecenes

Maybe this could be a breakthrough for those who cannot get well and have been in treatment for yrs.
My lyme dr also treats HIV patients and they have that pretty much under control. He said his lyme patients are sicker and is doing
all he can to find out answers.

I am thinking of going to see Dr crozier in Lake mary fl. He had Lyme and mold himself and was very sick. He does the iv therapy. I believe he is 9000 a month for the iv therapy. Not sure though. I also checked into 2 other docs in florida doing the same thing. they seemed much more expensive. Anyway 9000 is a lot, but I have been doing every possible thing for mold and lyme it is costing a fortune buying all the supplements and my do charges me 300 an hour, and she is not a specialist in either area, but she is trying to help me. I am just tired of being sick and it seems I am spending huge amount of money on supplements. It might just be better to go for 3 months and get it over with. I went to A doc in west palm who wanted to do the Bueler protocol. I couldn't nebulize antibiotics in my brain I got too sick from that. I am doing the shoemaker protocol with my current doc. Seeing a little bit of progress. I did the beg spray with another naturopath but the marcons came right back, So far I have been to 3 docs who are suppose to be specialist, but none of them have worked for me.

Just curious do yo have mycoplasma in your lungs. I have very high levels coming from mold exposure. It's the worst part. Headaches, using a box of kleenex a day and a chronic loud cough.

I have mold and Lyme.

Cholestyramine is the most effective binder for mold toxins. I couldn't tolerate it. It made my symptoms horribly worse, so I've been using charcoal and modified citrus pectin.

I left my house and office and went to a less moldy place (all locations were tested using the ERMI test from Mycometrics). I did not have any relief at all until 7 months after getting out of the mold. I still have to be careful to avoid mold, as it is everywhere.

Realtime Labs is the most trusted lab for testing people for mycotoxins. Ritchie Shoemaker is the mold guru doctor. Learn about the Shoemaker Protocol (survivingmold.com) and the HLA-DR genetic types related to mold, Lyme, and other biotoxins. Knowing your type can be very useful in guiding your treatment and learning what it will take for you to get well and stay well.

I don't think it's necessary to spend that kind of money on treatment. There's a clinic in S. Carolina that advertises the same kind of thing for even more money. That clinic has a residential heavy duty detox program. There's no way I could handle that kind of detox. I would probably die from a herxheimer.

Even if you could tolerate the treatment, you have no guarantee that it's going to "fix" you and make you normal again. It very well might speed things up, though. From that perspective, it's possible the cost could be justified. Going the slow route, you may end up spending that much in the long run over time.

Still, it seems like a big financial risk. If mold toxicity was the only issue and you did not have Lyme or any infections, then it might be worth the risk.

I want to add something I've been wondering about and haven't mentioned anywhere yet. I may start a new post about this soon. It has to do with VIP. VIP spray is the last step in the Shoemaker Protocol for those who have removed themselves from mold exposure, whose lab markers have normalized, but who are still symptomatic. According to Shoemaker, VIP has the ability to not only reverse the symptoms but also to turn off the gene activation of the HLA-DR gene for predisposition to biotoxins. It is the activation of those genes that sets the immune dysfunction in motion, resulting in chronic inflammation and symptoms of mold toxicity and/or chronic Lyme.

VIP is a pharmaceutical drug. I have a feeling that there are herbs that can accomplish the same thing of turning off that faulty gene and immune response. Buhner indicates many of the herbs are immune and cytokines remodulators. I just don't know if there's any reliable information out there that specifically addresses this question.

Shoemaker is very scientific and methodical in his approach. I don't know if he tested or even considered the possibility of herbs.

I would love to know if anyone has proof that herbs can accomplish what VIP can do for CIRS patients.

I was started on LDN a few weeks ago, and it helped tremendously with muscle pain. I used to live in a house with cinder blocks in basement walls (old victorian house) and mold would grow on the walls! So it has been a concern of mine. I also take activated charcoal (when I remember).

There are also some detox pages on FB that I have found helpful. You have to search through them to find the ones you like, but I have found some good tips.
