Hansa Center: trying to summarize all the info as of 10/31/11

I went to the Hansa Center this year and found it to be questionable at best. Spent two weeks doing their intensive treatment program and saw no results. Spent roughly $600 on supplements from them to take over the next few months and still saw no changes.

Many of their treatments lack any scientific evidence that they actually work. I think that is why you will commonly hear from people they don't know exactly how to describe some of the treatments or how they work. In my opinion the majority of the treatments are ineffective. Most people are getting the placebo effect from them at best. The IR sauna is good for detoxing but you do not need to spend $5-$10K for their two week treatment to do that. I purchased one online for $1,100.

I would caution anyone considering going there. Seeing a LLMD has cost me a fraction of that and has actually made some difference in my health.

im sorry sick toolong......i can say with me being sick *sure it was over 17yrs undiagnosed*...i feel i have reached my end....no more waiting....no more being told..jus hold on.....and then i think...u only been on treatment two mths.....but i was already ready for healing 17 yrs ago.....its hard......

where is hansa?

I am so sorry that you were made to feel that way.
We have been saying here on this forum that each and every one of us will need a treatment as unique as they are for some time. I'm glad that you see the same thing.

We are trying to uphold everyone's right to talk about their options for treatments and to discuss them as they go through them - whether it be using Pharmaceuticals or Natural treatments/medicines. This forum is more than big enough to handle both.

Has anyone here done much research on their techniques at Hansa such as the bio-resonance scanning or lux therapy? After being there I have tried to do as much research as possible but have not found anything that backs up most of these therapies. On their site they say gemstones were used to help the heart in communicating with God in the Bible. Religious or not I personally feel there should more backing up a therapy you are going to pay thousands of dollars for than a Bible verse.

While I have had some luck with different antibiotic combinations I have also used diet with pretty good success. I read The China Study which was an eye opening book. It is amazing to read how much diet can help stop chronic disease. This is a very cost effective technique to try.

i just realized I never saw those posts from two weeks ago where Heather's Dad was responding to me
and the moderator told me about the new policy that we can discuss other doctors that are on internet.

anyway good to hear again from the Hansa experiences.

No Doubt Dr. Jernigans book is one of my favorite lyme books. It is chock full of information and remedies.
He really simplifies lyme disease in his book compared to other published doctors on lyme disease.

Insights into lyme disease has 13 doctors writing articles and not one of them simplifies it as easy as Jernigan does.

My big question will always be ....Do we need antibiotics and antiparasitics for lyme, bartonella, babesia, chlamadyial pneumonia, ehrlichiosis, parvo virus, EBV, and what ever coinfections I left out. strongylides, hookworm, diaomebia fragialllis.

How many of the people that Dr jernigan cured ALREADY had antibiotic treatment.???

No one has an esy time on antibiotics. The herxing is what we are told to expect. Jernigan does not believe herxing
is a good sign and (correct me please if I am wrong) he is anti antibiotics.

and he is not alone in that theory. There are other doctors who do not use antibiotics.

GWB, I am sorry to hear you are still suffering with issues but i am sure you did not expect to never have another issue again after going to Hansa even with the great results you had there.

Thank you to the other members, CJ and Sicktoolong, who wrote in honestly and told of a not so miraculous experience.
This is so important that we really tell it how it was for us and not be worried about being seen as negative or not
having a positive enough upbeat or spiritual mind.

I apologize for sounding hostile over the issue of who we can or can not talk about in terms of doctors and as all the moderators know going back to Cajun I have been writing in about this issue because I felt is was not fair to the people in the antibiotic treatments going thru all kinds of herxing that we ONLY would hear about this one miracle place that is healing basically these same 4 people with rave reviews and is against antibiotic treatment.

There were 2 other people who wrote to my email address last year who told me one had gone to both envita and hansa and they were still very sick and the other had gone to Hansa and no progress.

I realized then how important it is to have an email address for people to get in touch because many people do not post and also do not want to say something "negative" right on the forum.

This leaves us as not painting the true picture. so again CJ and sicktoolong thankyou for your honesty and sharing.

I have been sick myself for nearly a decade. I know a lot about lyme disease and know that the placebo effect is much more powerful than people think. In some cases just adamantly believing something is helping will in fact make you feel better. The power of the brain is amazing. Which if that works then great. Do some research on the power of the placebo. I understand that there is not a universal treatment for lyme and different things work for different people. The majority of the people I met while I was there had a similar experience to myself of seeing minimal to no improvement so it is not just sour grapes.

Research was done before going to the Hansa Center but as most people will find out that there is not much information out there. I did as much as I could in the time frame before I went. As many other people on here I have been sick for a long time and desperate to find something that works. Could you please show me any other sites that has scientific research to back up claims made by them? I have read the information on the link you posted while I was at Hansa Center. Are there any sites that provide research that aren’t trying to sell the machines because I haven’t found any. I am continuing to do research on their treatments because my concern is that they are taking advantage of desperate sick people and charging them a lot of money that most of them don’t have to spare. If that is the case I should do my best to help others. If people do their own research and still want to go it is their choice. I am just letting people know of my experience and that they should read up as much as possible.

The Ionic Foot Detox is interesting. If you read the material it says that the water will turn those colors even without anyones feet or hands submersed in the water. I experimented with this and the water turned the same color regardless if my feet were in the water or not. Kind of odd.

The bio-resonance scanning is the part I found most out there. I have been unable to find any credible information on this process and this was the part that seemed the most hokey to me. Based on these readings from the scanning homeopathic remedies are then provided. Most research on homeopathic remedies shows no evidence that they work. I would be interested to read any articles on bio-resonance scanning that provide any scientific evidence of how it works.

I will happily provide any details or answer any questions you would like to make you more comfortable with the fact that I did go there. My main concern is that desperate people are being taken advantage of and I want them to know of my experience so they can make informed decisions. I am a very opened minded individual to trying to different treatments. If I felt even the slightest possibility that it could help people I would encourage them to try.
