Binx - my LLMD (and Dr. Burrascano) generally work under the premise that the Lyme is the main culprit and the other things (metals, mold, viruses, etc.) are exacerbaters of the disease. Lyme uses the mercury to help form biofilms and the other things just take advantage of Lyme's ability as an immunosupressor AND it clogs up your detox pathways as you treat it. So, the theory from their standpoint is generally, you go after the Lyme first and then, if no improvement, then you begin to start trying to peel away at the other things.
My issues are Lyme and mercury. Mercury causes my worst symptoms (and practically all mine are neuro) I believe but that is because my detox pathways get sluggish and my body can not rid itself of toxins (including Hg) as well. What has worked for me so far is to kill the Lyme - slowly and deliberately so as not to get too detox burdened - and detox the hell out of things through any support means I can - LOL! After 4 1/2 months on the abx, I am really seeing very noticeable improvements. I wanted to attack the mercury head on but was advised NOT to do that until we control the Lyme better and get my immune system back up to par.
Plus, I still have to get to the Flagyl part of my abx treatment - something that has been hard for me so far. I think it's because I have had Lyme so long and a lot of it may be in cyst form - the very thing Flagyl annihilates. If my "getting better" trend holds for the next 2 weeks or so, I will work a tiny bit of Flagyl into my regimen. But, the Yasko methylation stuff seems to have worked very well for me - I have been doing it for 5 weeks now - esp. improved my sleep and that makes a big difference in my health! These are just my experiences - yours may be different!
