Babesia treatment

who said it would be worse? I don't think it is worse, per se....different, yes, but not worse. That said, neither are a picnic, now, are they? uggh. You should herx with different symptoms specific to Babs which overlap but are different from Lyme (Bb)

I just finished treatment for babesia, 7 weeks, of Mepron, and Azithromyicin, ( Axithromyicin was 5 days on and 5 days off).  Night sweats are mostly gone, pressure headach gone, eye light sensitivity is less, and some other things.  Dr. is fairly sure my body has gotten rid of babesia.  After 5 days off these two antibiotics, which is tomorrow, I start treatment for Lyme disease.  Did not have huge problems with the drugs for babesia.  about the 2nd day had some severe pain in hands etc. that I have not had for years that lasted a few days, head was bad for a few days, etc.  Nothing that set me back too much.  My taste buds are off but may be due to one of the support things I'm on.  Will ask the ND when I see him.  This was my experience, hope this gives you some info.  Linda
