Thanks for the response! I came over here instead of talking about lymes in the fibro forum. I am so glad that you are feeling better! And wow so many lesions? I have had alot of testing done. We even did a brain mri with and without contrast, even the cervical spine and no lesions anywhere, although it did show 2 ruptured disks in my neck. My md wanted to rule out MS.

I have had so much blood work and even went to see an endocrinologist yesterday and she ordered a bunch of lab work to check all of my hormones. Everything keeps coming up negative so far.

My symptoms are so close and in fact match fibro symptoms and my mds keep telling me that it's not lymes, I just put it off. I don't having any numbing sensations in my body, never have, just the other symptoms, esp the sunburnt feeling. But I do get this sick virus feeling esp if I overdo it and feel like I have the 24 hr bug. I keep thinking if its fibro it has to be virus related because I feel sick, or autoimmune. I know my RH factor was slightly elvated and my b12 was low.

Was this test expensive? and what was the test you ordered and took? I may have to wait until I have some money saved up if it's costly. I sure would like to know though, just to rule it out.

Here is a link to the Igenex website. If it gets edited out, just google Igenex and you will find it. I'm in a hurry to leave out of town but wanted to respond you. I couldn't find the pricing for the tests when just on it (I think it's there...I just didn't have the time to locate it). I'm not gonna lie...it's kind of expensive. I think I recall that the basic lyme panel is either $275 or $400 something. Sorry, I can't be more specific. You can call the lab and they can tell you as well.

I spent the money and can't tell you how glad that I did. I spent sooooo much money in the year the I went undiagonosed on therapists, different doctors, holistic doctors, etc trying to find out what was wrong with me. It has paid for itself OVER AND OVER again in the money I have saved in my search for an answer. Also, my insurance company does reimburse me some of the money. I just have to pay cash upfront and then submit my receipts.

I have a slip of paper I got a a lymes conference for people with low income. I'll send you a link to that website when I get into the office on Monday. Also, you will need to have a doctor sign off on the labwork. You can have igenex send you the test kit, take to your doctor and then go to a lab for the blood draw. Many people will tell you to find an LLMD, but that is more money that you have to pay cash for. I personally just asked me regular doctor to do it (the first doctor threw out the Igenex test kit and ordered a Labcorp lyme test which of course came back negative). So, I found another doctor who would sign the labslip. Problem was, when she got back the test results, she read it wrong, told me it was negative. Two months later, I asked for a copy of the test, studied it and OMG....realized ti was Positive! Then, I found an LLMD and began treatment.

I would definitely get the test Karen....Lyme is so often misdiagnosed as Fibro. Also, many of us have different symptoms. Many people have pain like joint pain, etc. Except for the hand/foot pain I had in the beginning, most of my symptoms have been neurological. Everyone is different. Also, there are different co-infections that people have...each resulting in a different symptom. It's very confusing.

Anyhow, I would spend some time on this forum, ask questions, post your symptoms and thoughts and see what others think. I will check back in later. I'm glad you came over....maybe this is your answer!!!

Karen: I will be posting a new thread about the Lyme-Tap testing program which is a nationwide patient assistance program for lyme testing. Hopefully you are checking this thread and see it.
