Hi Bbpath,
I am so sorry to hear of your situation. The money thing stopped me from seeking out a second LLMD once I couldn't travel to the first one I used - once was all I could afford.
Considering that you went 3 years with symptoms of a LD infections, 2 or 3 months of abx are unlikely to be enough treatment. By the time symptoms show up (beyond the bulls eye rash) Dr. Burrascano and other well known researchers/LLMD's tell us that the infection has been able to infect many parts of our bodies by then and we will need longer treatment times. A Lyme Disease infection can actually go chronic in a matter of days for some. It all depends on the bacteria load.
I would suggest that you stay on the abx that you have and get more if you can until you can figure out what you are going to do next. Fortunately, you have all of us to bounce ideas off of to find a way to get some treatment!!
A few ideas, 'off the top of my head';
There are 'at-home' treatments that can be done, or if you are interested you could try a different form of medicine to treat your TBI's. Here is a link to some of the more popular 'at-home' treatments:
www.lymediseaseresource.com/Protocols.html If you are interested, why not make a few phone calls to a few Naturopathic Docs in your area to see if they either take insurance or if you can afford to see them without using the insurance.
It's easy enough to see that I have chosen to use Chinese Medicine/acupuncture/herbs to heal and I'm making good progress so far with it! That would be another idea if you were interested in trying it.
Whatever you do, don't give up!!! Keep on fighting to get the treatment you need to be able to live your life free of these insidious infections!! We're all here to help you through this!
