Thanks for the replies. This board is really helpful for me.
I have eliminated white flour, 95% or more of sugar and all fried/fatty foods from my diet. I was a pretty healthy eater before, so the changes weren't too drastic for me. I've been trying to not lose anymore weight by eating a LOT of organic peanut butter. I'm still losing, but not as quickly.
I think based on his response when asked about
the test being negative, that they will treat in some way. He said that sometimes even the Igenex test is negative and that doesn't mean you don't have a tick infection. He seemed confident that it was a tick-related illness. He didn't mention any other possible diagnosis or a need to test for anything else (although I've had tests for pretty much everything at this point).
I was nervous about
seeing a homeopathic doctor for this, but it turned out very well. I had never been to one before. I had the impression that he does not try to use herbs to replace necessary medications/antibiotics.
I hope that the other doctor (who is the LLMD from the list) will also be good. If things don't work out, I have another LLMD appointment in a different state coming up. However, the out-of-state one does more aggressive strictly antibiotic treatments and I'm pretty sure that I won't be comfortable with that. My original doctor scared me about
the complications involved with IV antibiotics.
I've actually never had a need to seek out a a specialist in anything. I've been very fortunate with my health up to this point. However, my lack of experience with health issues of any kind is probably why I am so worried and unable to make decisions. :)
