I have purchased a book called, Recipes for Repair. It is an anti-inflammation, pro-detox diet for Lyme What I like about it is that it outlines the diet over time, starting with the least inflamming, pro-detox foods and adding more foods from least inflamming to most, over time. Of course it stays healthy. It tells you what foods you can have for week one, weeks two through 4, months 2 through 6, and beyond 6 months. As you add foods you can see what things trigger problems. Online there is a sample of a food diary that you can recreate on Excel to record symptoms and watch for patterns and it also provides shopping lists for some of their recipes. The recipes include snacks, entrees, and desserts. It also explains the benefits of certain herbs and foods (like, did you know cilantro binds toxins and helps them leave the body)
I have not completely begun the diet. I am trying to stay away from the last list of foods while experimenting with some of the recipes and making my own from the allowed food list. There are a few "homemade things" they want you to make like homemade mayo (because commercial mayo has ingredients you arn't suppose to have during the first week) but I don't really have the time nor do I feel comfortable with raw egg. I found a cooked mayo recipe and might experiement.
One thing about such a restricted list and several recipes is that you can make several different meals from the ingredients you buy. Like a package of spinach can go a long ways. It has a couple pages in which they give resources and ideas for saving money, such as where to buy certain things.
