Still feeling really good!

I'd say I ranging from 75-90% of the level I was back pre-diagnosis Lyme in June! Each day gtes a little better with relatively minor setbacks. I think I know I must do the Flagyl at some point (maybe) and amybe chelate mercury but I am doing amazingly well. This, after thinking I was either dying or going crazy just two short months ago.  Still doing the Ceftin/Biaxin combo of abx and the BW protocols (A-BAB, A-L Complex) where I am just about to increase to 5 drops/day each (from 1 drop every 2 days back when I began). Still doing the methylation protocol and acupuncture too.

I ran 4 miles today in windy and cold weather and I am not nearly as tired as I was running the past couple of times. I feel as if my immune system is kicking back in! I see my two LLMDs - one on 1/3 and the other on 1/13 - to see what comes next. The one on 1/3 I think I may drop - she was one I wwent to for a "2nd opinion" but she ran the Igenex co-infection panels and I an looking forward to seeing what that says!

I did have two glasses of wine over the Hoiday weekend with no real ill effect either (fingers crossed). I am aiming to run a 10-mile race on March 4 so I need to bump up my training for it but need not push my self to hard, too quickly but so far it all seems good.  I do have to see the gall bladder surgeon on 1/6 and he wants me to get that gall bladder out. I ain't giving it up without a fight. It had not hurt mee in a couple of weeks so I am thinking it just got inflamed with the Lyme but I seriously doubt he would agree with that.

We'll see but I am happy with my progress and hoping that the remaining setbacks inthe future which I am sure will come are of less intensity and duration. I am looking forward to 2012! I've got lots of catcing up to do since I was wahcked out for the better part of 2011!

I'm so excited for you! Lyme treatment can be torture - but it's so great when all the hard work finally pays off! Run, run like the wind! :)

Traveler - you could always try nonalcoholic wine...it's my new best friend for holidays and special occasions! Tastes a lot like the real thing, only without the nasty hangover! I made alcohol-free mimosas on Christmas morning (family tradition) and I could hardly tell the difference (except I wasn't tired by 10 am like I usually am!).

Yes, Trav, indeed. We are thinking, even if I cannot drink wine, we go anyway. We'll just upgrade from a regular old hotel to a spa resort out there and, while she drinks wine, I submit to a week of massages, mud baths, detox treatments and the like! We can make it work.

A interesting sidebar is that this is my 2nd wife. My 1st and I divorced way back in 2003 after 17 years of marriage and I married the current wife in 2009. The irony is that my 1st wife and I are still good friends - perhaps even better than we were the whole time while married (LOL) - and she endured my every-five-year bout with what we thought was anxiety/depression. When I was finally diagnosed with chronic Lyme, she was amazed and read up on it and saw that it accounted for every one of my symptoms and 'attacks' over the years. Anyway, just an interesting aside....

My current wife has stood by me through the thick of it - this time knowing it to be Lyme. When we married 3 years ago, we went to Napa on a honeymoon (after a very expensive $25 wedding at the County Clerk's Office - chuckle!). So this would be coinciding with our 3-year anniversary....so I hope to go there anyway!

He and you will know yourself as a well person before long - I can 'feel' it in your posts.....you'll get there. You know, I don't even know if I know myself as a truly "well" person as I have had this for at least 35+ years. But, the 5-year oscillating periods when I was "well" seemed very good - interrupted by about a year of yuckiness each time. So, maybe I'll come out of this being even "well-er" than ever before!.

But, I do not regret having Lyme - it has FORCED me to explore myself on many occasions - right brain: I got a Master's in EE and can build/fix most anything mechanical, electrical or whatever. Plus the left brain: watercolors (I have sold many and won awards) and writing (one award-winning local history book). And I have studied the great religions of the world and delved in eastern culture and yoga aqnd tai chi. All this from a redneck from Maryland (LOL). Not bragging on any of this but, I seriously doubt I would have done nearly as much if I had not had Lyme all these years - it pushed my envelope to find out more about me and about my world.

And, I can tell you, based upon the dreams I had been having of late, this episode of my Lyme journaey has plans for me....something new and even more enlightening.... The desparation of Lyme and the questioning of life itself through the illness is not all a bad thing....listen and "be" with the condition and good things can come from it!

that's good to hear yazzer... i've been doin pretty well myself and i'm drinking a few glasses of wine or a few beers every week without much problem now...
