I have been looking at other disease forums such as Fibromyalgia, CFS, etc...I am definitely not a doctor but was told by doctors that I suffered from those conditions......


Is it appropriate to mention the they could be Lyme Victims?

After what I have been through the last year or so I would like to help people get a proper diagnoses faster than I did.... I think the sooner you find this stuff the better!

Hi BBRH,

I know when you finally find what is wrong with you, you just want to shout it from the rooftops, but that might annoy the neighbors.

When someone actually asks something like, "Does anyone know what this is," or "Looking for answers, please help," you can definitely put in your opinion if it seems they have Lyme. Of course you can't diagnose them, but encouraging them to look into Lyme and do their research, could be very helpful.

Other than that, it is better not to say anything. Recently a moderator from another forum asked me to get one of the Lyme members to rethink a post they made: It was standing in the middle of their forum and kind of irritating those who had had a struggle to finally get their diagnosis.

So yes, do educate but don't overstep!!

Yeah I did the same thing innocently and meaning to help but boy did I get angry responses. I personally believe there A LOT of people diagnosed improperly especially in my neighborhood and town with MS, fibro, CFS etc. but all you can do is mention lyme. You can't push it on them.

I have actually thought of taking out a table at our local flea market to broadcast the lyme subject. By shouting from the rooftops may be the only way we draw enough attention to this stupid disease.

, I agree with you and think many people are being treated for things they may not have.... I do not want to push Lyme on anyone but would like to let people know that Lyme is out there, more so than the majority of people are aware of. I was told all kind of things over the last year or so and spent time, money, and energy on things that were not helping the root of the problem.

When I read many of these people symptoms it seems very possible they have it. What is bothering me most is there are no test to confirm what they are being treated for yet there are test that will confirm Lyme and Co-Infections. I am not diagnosing by any means but just wish these people were aware of Lyme and all it's symptoms.

I was told several times I did not have it and that it was not a problem in the state I live.....Not True! I was fortunate in that my mother watched Mysterious Diagnosis and the episode was of a girl that had been to all kinds of doctors and tried all kinds of treatments before being tested for Lyme. I think she went for 5 years before this occurred. My mother called and told me about it so I started research that night. Basically, if she would not have seen the episode and told me I would still be going down hill and trying treatments that were of no use to me.

It would be great to help others avoid going through all the wasted time, money, and feelings of helplessness.

I guess the best way for now would be to help Lyme Groups such as Turn The Corner?
