I suspect these topics are covered pretty well at various places throughout the various forums, books, and blogs. I'm just hoping some of you experienced folks can point me in the right direction.
I go hiking a lot in the woods of southeastern PA so I have a fair amount of exposure to the woods and all the bugs. I have a friend who has chronic Lyme and I've watched him suffer a lot since he's found little to no successful treatment. I'm trying to establish the following:
1) Game Plan to Enjoy the Outdoors but Avoid Lyme Disease
2) Game plan of what to do if and when I do find a tick attached to me (any natural treatments that might be helpful right away?)
3) Game plan of what to do if I find a tick and later develop a rash and/or other symptoms (any natural treatments recommended?)
4) Ways to keep my health and immune system in tact so hopefully I will be healthy enough to ward off a Lyme infection
I understand that there are several natural products that are said to be fairly powerful natural antibiotics including wild oil of oregano, olive leaf extract, and grapefruit seed extract. Do you think it would be helpful to take these orally immediately after finding a tick? Any others that you would recommend?
