I think I have bart, too...
Hi, Jennydancingfish. When I did UBI, I did twice per week for 1 month, once per week for one month and once every 2 weeks for 2 months. In hindsight, I should have probably doubled all of those ... or I should have kept going every 2 weeks for a few more months. I was missing a ton of work and I felt absolutely great... so I stopped too soon.
I currently do UVLrx once per week because that clinic is open on weekends. It may not be enough, but it's a long drive, and again ... work. If I have to try and add in a 2nd session per week, I will. I am hopeful that once is enough, and that it simply might take a little longer to get there. I have noticed improvements for sure. My foot pain nearly goes away after a treatment. I get a loot of neuro herx for a few hours, but I go home and rest and then am fine.
The differences are significant in that no blood gets taken out for UVLrx.
UBI (older technology) - Look for a clinic that uses a machine by Tom Lowe. His uses 4 ultra violet bulbs, which are UVA, UVB and UVC. More thorough. His catheters also keep the blood in the light longer and more spread out so all of it gets hit by the light and cleaned. I found a clinic that also added ozone, which was absolutely wonderful... I finished and felt so euphoric, LoL... it was a crazy energetic burst that tapered nicely, not like a sugar buzz, LoL --- UBI, they take out 60-100 cc of blood, put it into an IV bag and run it back into your arm, passing thru the light box on the way. It's amazing to watch the color change to this beautiful bright red on the way back in. I honestly can't wait to go have a treatment. If they add ozone, it gets added into the IV bag before it flows back into your arm. This treatment lasted about 45-50 minutes if my veins cooperated. With ozone, this was $275.
UVLrx is newer technology. A catheter gets put into your vein. The UVLrx is connected via fiber optic cable to that catheter in your vein. This, too, uses multiple wavelengths of light that go directly into the vein. So, it is cleaning all the blood passing by, which is ~ 5 quarts per minute. This treatment lasts one hour, plus the time it takes to hook you up. Along with the light, you get a very slow drip IV to keep hydration at that location. I love that because I get a Meyer's Cocktail along with the UVLrx, so I kill things and re-establish my nutrient levels. I miss the ozone part though. This is $200. The place offers packages, but I haven't asked about discounts yet. I believe it's fairly priced, and it's in the city of Chicago... shockingly, parking is only $4, LoL...
Again, I am trying UVLrx because my LLMD wanted me to try that and compare. The UVLrx clinic is open all weekend, so I don't miss work. I like it. I think both work for me.
