lyme and cricopharyngeal dysfunction

Oh my goodness. You have certainly been through the ringer. Has any doctor given you any other options as to treatment? Have you tried going with natural antibiotics?

It seems to me there has got to be some way for you to get relief. I know lyme can affect and infect all parts of the body. Also, perhaps detoxing would help you. The body is able to fight off some of the bacteria itself and perhaps some of the toxins are what are making your conditions worse.

The best news is that you are not alone in this. We are here to help as much as we can! You can come here to learn so much about tick-borne infections and there are enough of us a person can truly get a real sense of diversity - not only in symptoms, but in treatment approaches as well!

Please read our "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" thread!! It has a ton of info, great links and the second post (about 1/2 way through that post) has the detoxing instructions you are looking for!! To start out though, I would suggest that you only use nicely warm water - never use hot water as this can cause you to herx further. Also, only stay in the bath for 7 - 10 minutes the first time or so. Some people are so overloaded with toxins from these infections and our environment that a detox bath can cause a herx reaction.

Be sure to do the dry skin brushing, as our skin is our largest detox system!

You can also heal from tick-borne infections by using more natural means without any abx. There are several different choices. In the 'New to Lyme?' thread you will see a link for 'several Lyme Disease protocols' (but I'll put the link here as well) - these include the more popular 'natural' protocols, or some members are using a ND and a couple of us are using Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture to heal. It's really your choice.

Before I knew I had Lyme, I experienced many of the symptoms you've described - including some strange, yet-to-be-diagnosed esophogeal symptoms which sound similar to the cricopharyngeal dysfunction that you mention (which I must admit I'd never heard of before!). Lyme can definitely cause a ton of symptoms, and like the others said you've got options besides antibiotics.

Most of those who have read through it have said that it was very helpful!!

We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge about our infections and the different ways to treat them!

Without special training none of the doctors you see will likely have any clue about the truth of Lyme and other tick-borne infections, and with your symptoms I would say you should be at least evaluated for them.
