as some of you may remember, i had what may have been an allergic reaction (though bc of the butterfly shape of the rash on my face, was re-tested for many connective tissue disorders) back in the middle/end of march. i stopped all antibiotics and was given an iv of steroids and 15 days of prednisone (due to severity of rash).i finished with the 15 days of prednisone about a week and half ago, though did not begin antibiotics again because i am still dealing with face skin issues and figured that i wanted to try a more natural route since my body had such a harsh reaction last time. i just started cats claw 2 days ago and will see my LLMD on wednesday to discuss further options. i am considering re-testing for lyme- my last test was done sept 8 and i had been on antibiotics for 5 days and teasel for weeks beforehand. i was igenex positive but cdc negative and had cd57 of 55. i am curious as to what my results would be now, after 3/4 months on biaxin and then omnicef in the fall, a short break off in the winter and then back on bactrim and zithromax for 4 weeks and minocylcline 1 week in feb/march. ive been off antibiotics for about a month, a little less. if i retest now, off antibiotics, would that yield a more accurate result?i want to see if there is any progress, or perhaps if i become cdc positive, my insurance will pay for more. im also just curious what my test would say after all that treatment, but then a long break of no antibiotics.
opinions? have i been off antibiotics for too long? could the lyme be hiding?
