Found tick on the back of my knee this morning. Was probably on there for about
12 hours. Appeared to be a small dog tick. Now entire leg hurts. Throbbing pain from thigh to foot and a slight headache. I read this could be a reaction to neurotoxins in the ticks saliva. I'll monitor my health very closely over the next week. Trying to avoid antibiotics because I am currently working outdoors and those make you ultra sensitive to the sun. But I've had Lyme before so I know what to watch for... not trying to go through that again.

Some doctors recommend a one-time large dose of doxycycline in such cases. You could give your PCP doctor a call and see if they are one of those doctors.
The brief dose shouldn't make you sensitive to the sun.

Hopefully your doc can give you 2-3 weeks of doxy as a preventative.
