So a couple weeks to a month ago I started getting severe pain and swelling in the back of my head, just behind the ears - then I started noticing more and more sinus pain, with a lot of eye and jaw pain, extremely blurred vision in my left eye, extreme stiffness down my left side, low-grade fevers...
...the sinus problems started up again (I used to get chronic sinusitis) after I stopped antibiotics. I stopped antibiotics because one of them severely messed me up neurologically - I stopped being able to walk, speak, stand, etc. Then I started using Buhner's protocol - for about 2 months I was feeling so much better than I had in a long time, and then after a bout of pretty intense stress, all of this head pain came along, which is always accompanied by a feeling of intense pressure. My neck has been cracking an unbelievable amount as well, and my weakness has increased a lot really quickly.
I'm at a weird place in my treatment - I haven't found a replacement doctor yet, but the LLMD I've been seeing for the last year+ has seriously disappointed me in her treatment and behavior - I tried going to just a GP in the meantime but he told me that my head swelling and increased weakness are depression, and I need lexapro - typical!
I'm going to ask for a brain scan hoping that'll point me in the right direction (whether it's lyme, just a bad sinus infection, or some consequence of a 4-month untreated sinus infection) - the pain is just so severe and swelling in the back of the head isn't usually a symptom of sinusitis...I don't know if I should go back on abx which never seemed to help, or if maybe I need abx just for whatever's going on with my sinuses, or what. Not sure if there was a question in there anyway, I'm just trying to wrap my very foggy head around what might be going on here. Thanks for any input!
