I was actually treated by Dr. Masters, the one who the disease is named for. He told me that he used that diagnosis for people who couldn't test positive with the standard blood tests for Lyme, although they most likely only had a strain which wasn't recognized yet. There are 100 active strains of Lyme in the US, 300 world wide, since the tests only look for 4 or 5 strains, it only makes sense that even though the tests don't declare it as Lyme disease, it's only one of the strains that haven't had a test designed to find it yet!
