Hi, new to the forum, with a few quick questions i was hoping someone could help me answer. I am also aware this may of been addressed in another thread but i couldn't find one relevant, so i apologize if this is a repeated topic or misplaced on the forums.
Long story short, i went to the doctor, she's sending me to a disease control center where she predicts i'll be put on intravenous antibiotics, which i read up on before my doctors visit. I assume cefotaxime. I predict four weeks.
So my question is, if anybody has had similar treatment, and what does it consist of. I have another week before my (most likely first) visit to the center, and i'm anxious to know what i should expect from treatment. I have a terminally ill family member (unrelated condition), and i wish not be away from home for the duration of my treatment. Should i expect to be admitted to a hospital for said treatment or can iv antibiotics be administered routinely visitationally? Also, i recently got a new insurance plan, where i openly told them i had a pre existing condition (lyme) and they said it wasn't even on their list... but with the possibility of being admitted for the antibiotics, i worry they may have a problem flipping the bill.
If anyone wants to also share what they went through physically from their antibiotics for anybody else's benefit who might read this, i'm sure it'd be appreciated, and i encourage it. I've been reading forum entries that date back to 2004... but i'm personally just worried about the actual procedure and potential insurance issues.
Thanks in advance for any insight, and best of wishes to everyone :)
