PIV

I have heard the same thing about the 72 hours. I think everything is a risk though with Lyme treatment and it's up to the patient to decide what they're comfortable with. Personally, if I end up on IV's I think I'd be more comfortable with once weekly PIV than a PICC. Was there a reason you didn't go for a PICC line? That might be an option if insurance is fighting the PIV's.

Thank you for the responses! I am not getting the Picc line because the Dr that I am seeing already have too many patients with Picc lines in. I guess it is a legal/liability issue. I have in the past had IVs that were replaced and pulled every time 3x a week for homeopathic treatment and because of that I have a lot of scar tissue in my veins so I actually wish I was getting a picc... I think that the PIv's are $300 a week but the picc is $10,000 right? So wouldn't it be in the insurances best interest to approve the piv?
