Prior to February 14th, 2012
-no history of headaches
-rarely ever sick
-always a healthy eater
-no fast food
-run 3x a week, practice Bikram Hot Yoga 3x a week
-healthy, happy, mild social anxiety (treated for with Lexapro 2008-2011)
-occasionally smoked and consumed alcohol (both socially)
-Cleaned for free yoga, there was Mold in the back room. Also mold/leak found in the ceiling of my room. I have moved out.
One week before February 14th
-sharp stabbing pain in my head that last about
20 seconds
-profuse arm pit sweating
-I remember finding a small black tick in my bed, but not one me.
February 14th
-severe sudden onset of symptoms
-fatigue
-tired
-general not feeling well
-slight pressure in head
-chills
February 15th-16th
-increased head pressure
-bad anxiety
-fatigue
-did not feel right at all, never felt like this before in my whole life
February 17th
-First ER visit at GBMC
-same symptoms, worsened
-diagnosed with “Acute Sinusitis”
-prescribed 1 week of Azithromycin
February 18th-March 2nd
-I still feel horrible
-Symptoms are not improving
-I cannot think clearly and very bad brain fog
-Anxiety increases… what is wrong with me? I’ve always been healthy.
-I experience a sharp pain in my lungs where it is hard to breath. It comes and goes.
March 8th
-Symptoms continue, pressure in my forehead is traveling to the top of my head
- Sharp pain in lungs/chest continue
-Go to GBMC satellite office, prescribed 15 days of Clarithromycin for peunmonia
March 12th
-2nd ER visit for bad heart/chest pain. Burning sensation? Not that I look back, was this a herx? I was told it was G.E.R.D, something else I’ve never had.
-CT scan of head taken
-Diagnosed with Chronic Sinusitis (completely clogged right frontal sinus lobe)
-till this day, no yellow or green snot, no runny nose, no cough, no sneezing.. sinus infection?????
- Later in the day, I see Dr. Han Sohn, an E.N.T in Lutherville
-Avelox and prednisone.
-mono test- negative
-HIV test- negative
March 13th-16th
-Same symptoms, worse then before starting the Avelox and Prednisone
-On the 16th, the pressure in my head was so bad it was hard to balance
Dr. Sohn put me in for emergeny surgery for Balloon Sinuplasty and to fix my deviated septum
March 19th
-Surgery
March 19th- 26th
-physically and emotionally numbed with Morphine pills, while recovering in bed
March 27th
-Stent removed, Pressure in my forehead is greatly relieved
-still feel fatigued
-Anxiety is gone because I think it is all over
March 29th
-last dose of Avelox
-fatigue
-I go for a run for the first time in almost a month
March 30th- April 6th
-same symptoms, headaches after running, sore legs and knees
April 7th and 8th
-I feel great, symptom free. I have my first drink in almost 2 months.
April 9th
-pressure in sinuses/head return to an extreme
April 9th-May 3rd
-severe eye twitching
-headaches
-pressure in the head
-bad ear pressure
-ear pain
-ear popping
-nodes under chin hurt
-tinnitus
-brain fog
-heard to find the right words in sentences
-having trouble remember names/peoples names
-crawling sensation underneath the skin of my legs
-sudden onset of eye floaters, huge squiggly lines that literally look like bacteria
-fatigue
-I notice I feel even worse after consuming dairy, gluten, and especially alcohol.
-ER visit for a severe headache. I’m told to maybe go see a Psychiatrist……………..
May 4th-June 1st
-go to a new family doctor, Dr. Kushner, sends more for the ELISA Lyme test (<.91)
-have a whole allergy test done (I’m allergic to a few trees 4’s/5’s, not allergic to mold).
-crawling sensation under skin
-leg kicks, spasms
-chronic daily head pressure
-increase in eye floaters
-ear popping/pressure
-tinnitus
-ear pain
-fatigue
-loss of sex drive
-I start taking Binko Giloba which greatly helps my brain fog, I can think more clearly
-Still using wrong words in sentences
-tightness in neck
-left tonsil is bigger than the right
-bad acid reflux (maybe from all the Tylenol for headaches?)
June 1st-8th
-I detox
- avoid all carbs and only eat meats and vegetables
-I feel a little better, but extremely fatigued and tired
-head pressure
June 9th-July 1st
-Neurologist tells me that despite all of my symptoms, I suffer from tension headaches and prescribed me an anti-seizure medication, which puts me back in the ER.
-Pressure in my head is severe, they perform a CT scan, and a Spinal tap
-no meninigitis
-ER doctor tells me I don’t have Lyme because I have no classic symptoms of joint pain and stiffness
-Neuro ordered an MRI and MRA which comes back clear
-I become very depressed with my symptoms and start an anti-depressant, but decide to go off of it because I didn’t want to mask the real underlying problem
-ear pain
-ear pressure
July 1st-14th
-head pressure on top of the head, neck stiffness
-fatigue
-tired
-I begin researching Lyme
July 15th
-dull, throbbing, uncomfortable pain in my heart or area surrounding my heart
-pressure in my head
-ER visit
-doctor asks me what I think it is, I say Lyme. He says it’s a possibility. Prescribes me Doxycyline for 30 days 2x daily at 100mg
-x ray of chest comes back clear
July 15th-August 15th
-See infectious disease doctor, ordered western blot, prescribed doxy for two more weeks
-chronic head pressure eases up a bit
-more eye floaters appear (bacteria die off?)
-random pains in my heart
-Start taking garlic, Resveratrol, Cats Claw, Vitamin C, Olive Root, Milk Thistle,
-I start going back to Bikram Yoga to detox, feel a little better
August 15th- Sept. 5th
-I have been going to different express care centers saying I have been bitten by a tick, which I am then prescribed doxycycline for 14 days “recommended by the CDC”.
-I have been experiencing an increase in heart pain
-heart beats rapidly at moments
-there sometimes feels like a vibration
-eye floaters
-random eye pressure/popping
-muscles in arms and legs feel leg and sometimes sore
-pressure in head/top of head is still there and to this date is the worst symptom I have experienced
-leg spasms/twitching
-worst heart pain I have felt so far.
Sept 6th-Present
- LLMD
-200mg of doxy x2 a day until results from Igenex come back
Currently I am feeling awful... my head feel horrible. There is that constant dull achy pressure along with fatigue. I'm also getting rounds of bad anxiety about
it. Is this normal to be on a higher dose? Do you guys think this a herx?
