Hi Dreamer, This board is for Lyme disease, but I wanted to respond to you even though your question is general. When your body has an infection like Strep, it creates white blood cells that pool in lymph nodes to fight you fight off infections. We have lymph nodes all over our body, working for us all the time. Sometimes they get swollen and we feel well, other times it can be part of an illness our body is fighting. It would make sense that Strep is the reason your node is swollen, as Strep bacteria are in your mouth and throat and neck region. Don't worry. You should be feeling better once the antibiotics kick in and help your body fight the infection off. If you have a swollen node for much longer after you've finished the abx or you don't feel better on abx, be sure to tell your doctor.
Hope this helps and you feel better soon!
