Prognosis for recovery with pre-existing autoimmune thyroid

Is anyone aware of any research regarding recovery rates from Lyme for people with pre-existing autoimmune conditions compared to people without auto immune issues?

According to my ND, autoimmune issues makes Lyme harder to treat.

He talks about 60% of chronic lyme patients will get to recovery with sufficient course of Tx, 20% will with a 2nd round of Tx and 20% stay in long-term management mode.

I feel like by reminding me of the autoimmune complications, that he is preparing me for possibly landing in the wrong 20%. Seemed like it would be good to know if there is any research about recovery rates specifically for people with pre-existing autoimmune conditions.

I definitely still want to fight this thing and recover fully.

I'm far from 'knowing it all', but I've not come across any research on this.

I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis due to Lyme, as many others here do. It's an autoimmune issue as well. I've read where many autoimmune issues resolve once a person is in remission from these infections though.

No matter what any doc says, you won't know if you will recover fully until you quit treating! Just because you have finished with all that one doc can do to help, doesn't mean that another one can't help further. Otherwise I wouldn't be a Mod here, I'd be too ill still!! So keep up the good work!!
I'll be interested in what other have to say!
