I"m so sorry that you too, have to deal with these uneducated doctors! This is why we ask members to go to LLMD's. Not all of them are well educated, but the majority of them know how - and what - to write a script for and what not to!
To help with your anxiety about the detox baths, you should start out with the foot detox! That's my main way of using the detox baths. It's pretty easy to set up, and I don't have a tub. Don't leave your feet in the water for more than 7 - 10 minutes, make sure the water is only *nicely* warm - not hot - and you will most likely do just fine!
If you find you tolerate that, then the next day stay in the water for 15 minutes. After that, warm your water up just a touch each time you use the foot bath, until you get to the very warm stage. Once you are at that point, you can start to increase your time spent in the water bit by bit again until you reach the point where you can stay in the water for 20 minutes.
At that point, you could start to ease yourself into using the full baths. Just remember - slow and steady.
