Hey guys. I posted a few months ago with some symptoms I thought could be Lyme but then I had a test that came back negative and I kind of forgot all about it. Then people online kept suggesting Lyme and I'm thinking about it again. I saw a doctor who mentioned it but said it's pretty rare where I live (West Virginia). I'll list some of my symptoms... as of now I think it could either be chronic Epstein Barr virus or mold sickness, because I did not get sick until I moved into the apartment where I live now, and there's mold in the air conditioner and in the ceiling in my kitchen (leak from the bathroom that never got fixed). But if those aren't it I might look into alternative treatments to Lyme disease. Here's what's been going on:
In March, right after I turned 21, I started getting nauseous fairly often and was pretty fatigued. I put it down to too many energy drinks, too much junk food late at night, not enough sleep, etc. I didn't feel like I was sick at the time but when I look back I wonder if it's connected to this current illness.
In April those same symptoms were worse, and I started getting these spells of feeling dizzy, flushed, lightheaded, etc. A few days later I was feeling really sick, and I thought I had a virus. For about a week I had a low grade fever, was very tired, had some nausea and vomiting, no appetite, and pain in my ribs and back.
I recovered from that in a week, felt better for two weeks or so, then started getting the dizzy spells again. Right after that I got really sick again, this time without the body aches and with more nausea/vomiting. After that I just haven't been the same. For a while I woke up every morning with a terrible stomach ache and threw up, usually just mucus/yellow bile. I also stayed dizzy and lightheaded all the time, and I started getting some slight numbness in the left side of my body (that happens much less often now).
Since then it's pretty much been those same symptoms off and on although I'd say my digestive issues aren't quite as bad anymore, and I can eat more. In fact, I actually feel the need to eat really often or I'll get lightheaded and anxious. I also get bad gas, sometimes I'll belch until I gag or even vomit. For a few days last week I got really severe gas pains every evening that lasted an hour or two.
The lightheadedness is also pretty persistent, and it makes it hard to concentrate on things. I also have more eye floaters than I used to, and they get really bad when I go outside.
I'm sure there's more than that but that's all I can think of right now. I don't really think I have Lyme but I'm wondering if anyone has been through something similar and can help steer me in the right direction. Thanks!
