First of all, get yourself under protection! Be very careful with that storm on it's way! I do hope that all is well at your place by the time it passes.
As for how to go about
detoxing carefully, I had to learn how to do that too. Every time I tried to detox like many others (full baths and staying in for 20 minutes, using foot detox pads) it only made me herx even more.
It's all about
staying slow and steady. Detoxing isn't just a one time thing, you won't feel any real difference - unless you set off another herx! - you need to be doing these things daily, or on a regular schedule. I promise that I'm not scolding you about
this! Just wanting to make sure you understand that it's important to stick to it.
I would suggest that you dry skin brush daily, that rarely sets off a herx, but it lifts up the dead skin that unhealthy people have trouble shedding,
opens up the pores to release more toxins, and increases circulation - all things we really need help with!
Next, I would suggest that you do the foot soaks with Epsom Slat and peroxide and be sure to do them for 4 weeks, 3 - 4 times a week to start. You can increase how often you use these as you feel you can, but do it slowly. Be sure that you only keep your feet in the water for 15 - 20 minutes at a time though. Longer could set you up for increased symptoms. If you don't honestly feel any different after 4 weeks of this, then you need to talk to a doc that not only understands detoxing, but can help unblock your detox pathways - many Holistic docs can help with this.
If you don't have issues with muscle spasms, muscle twitches, or muscle cramps, add fresh lemon to your water and be sure to drink just as much as you can possibly get down you. My daily goal is 2 quarts, frequently I drink 3 or 4 quarts of water though. This will help to 'flush' not only your lymph glands, but your liver and kidneys as well and will escort those toxins out through the urine.
Staying in the hot water for that long most likely did two things - raised your body temp and possibly raised your blood pressure. Raising your body temp will also act to kill off the bacteria - whether it's Lyme or Candida (and it's likely that you have both Lyme and Candida), so that's why your body responded the way it did to a simple bath. Please don't take hot baths or showers for a while. No one needs you passing out!
You did have a definitive answer though, Aphysical, you've had more than one positive band show. The CDC used to have up on their site that the tests were only for disease tracking data - that's what they were really designed for, not for diagnosing people! It's the Infectious Disease docs organization that has gotten things all screwy - they believe that Lyme is hard to get, easy to treat - ignoring all scientific data that has been done before and since they made that statement. You should spend some time reading the stuff from ILADS (
www.ilads.org/) rather than take the IDSA (Infectious Disease Society of America) info as truth. They have created a lot of 'business' for this forum with their ideas of how easy these infections are to treat.
