I've been trying to come up with a good coffee replacement with no caffeine ... so I just put together : 2 tea bags roasted dandelion root , 2 tsp of raw organic sugar ( I know sugar is bad , but you could use stevia , or agave syrup as replacements), a tsp of natural almond flavor , a pinch of cinnamon, heavy cream ... taste like an almond flavor coffee !!! I am in ♥
I technically shouldn't be doing the dairy , or the sugar . But I do have replacements for both , I could use coconut milk , and agave ( stevia m akes me jittery for some reason ) .. but for today I cheated and made it like I would my favorite way to make coffee .
I made it in a Mason jar so I dont get chemicals leaching in from the plastic or paint from the coffee mugs or whatever else they sneak into our dinnerwares .
I used Traditional Medicines Dandelion Root tea , and Watsons all natural real almond flavor , and cinnamon I buy in bulk at the health food store , I am thinking this would be good with real vanilla extract and or nutmeg or even cloves Kinda like a chai tea but made with your own ingredients !
Dandelion roots apparently have been proven to be a good detoxifier , increasing liver bile and helping move waste out . So its like having a good cup of coffee or chai tea but detoxifying at the same time .
