So the other thread got too long - yea!! That means lots of posts were made!!!

So here is part 2.
It seems that the 10th day was missed, and the 11th day was never actually put into the song, only one suggestion of what it could be was made, so let's start off with the 10th day of Christmas here!

OK;the twelfth day, that means it's Christmas Eve right?

I always get confused because here in Germany, presents are given on Christmas Eve and not on the 25th.

So, we have to go out on a bang,what about

On the 12th day of Christmas my tummy said to me

Those 12 mince pies
11 ginger snaps
10 Belgian Chocolates
9 greasy sausages
8 baked potatoes
7 spoons of custard
6 serviings of green bean casserole!
5 turkey slices
4 lbs of sprouts
3 tubs of ice-cream
2 pints of red wine
1 Christmas pudding

were not exactly gluten free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only problem with green bean casserole was---the other ingredients.

Now I know,it sounds delicious,everybody has their own take on certain dishes that's what makes cookery so interesting.
I, and my children don't eat meat, so I'm always on the look out for tasty veggie food.

I have got a unbelievable dessert which my mother-in -law taught me,she was born in Austria,it's called "Snoody"
Nobody has heard of it either,it is wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it isn't for the faint hearted and to call it a" calorie bomb" would be an understatement.

What will you give to me in return if I divulge its wickedness? LOL

Me and my big mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will have to bear with me,I only had the recipe in German and in metric measurements,so here goes,

You need:

7 ozs of finely ground almonds
6 large cooking apples
chocolate pudding
8ozs of double cream

cinnamon
sugar
vanilla pods
whole almonds
grated chocolate

Put the ground almonds into a dish which is suitable for a normal trifle
Steam the pealed and chopped apples in a saucepan(just a liitle water) with sugar and cinnamon to taste
You need enough liquid from the cooked apples so that you can cover the almonds
Strain the apples and pour the juice over the almonds
You have to make sure that the nuts are really soaked
When the apples have cooled down ,mash them gently with a fork and put them on top of the almonds
Make a chocolate pudding and allow it to cool slightly,then pour it on top of the apples.
Put the dish into the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Or until the pudding has set.

Whip the cream and flavour with fresh vanilla
Scoop the cream on top of the choolate pudding
And garnish with whole almonds and grated chocolate

I love this Austrian trifle because you can prepare it,apart from the cream,the day before.

The mixture sounds odd but it works perfectly,it is truly delicious.

I make it every Christmas to keep it special but everybody loves it-----------promise.

Try it you will be astonished how good it is!

So there you have it Austrian trifle ala mother in law.(bless her soul)

Wow Tickled!  That sounds soooooooooooo good!  I am going to make this and I will let you know how my version comes out.   The combination of apples, almonds, and chocolate sounds wicked awesome! 

I have some recipes to share, some low carb and I'm still thinking about starting a recipe thread where everyone could contribute.
