Scared and anxious. Newly diagnosed with Lymes.

I was feeling off, not myself to the point where it caught my attention.  In the last 2 years, I have dealt with migraines and have been mediated for it, c5 & c6 fusion to deal with nerve damage, bulging disk and pinched nerves affecting my right arm, chronic pain in my neck and shoulder and a number of other things. 

By the time I began feeling the confusion, pain after successful surgery, breast symptoms and a host of other, I went to see a Holistic Practitioner who did a blood analysis and told me she saw parasites and I don't recall what she called them.  I recalled seeing the list of symptoms and feeling dread, sadness and peace all at the same time.  Dread that this cannot be and peace because I was not falling apart of imagining all these things going wrong in my body all at the same time.

As I read information on this site, I experienced more sadness and anxiety and feeling as though everything is so out of control with no hope but the more I look, the more I find.  I need a lot of help.  I am anxious, very anxious.  I went to my doctor and had a blood test done and am for results but from what I read, it may not even show. 

What do I do?  How do I treat this if it doesn't show on a blood test?  I am in Pennsylvania.  Where do I turn?  Thank you.

I may not be the best person to advise you on anxiety since I'm in the midst of an unbearable anxiety attack right now as the result of Lyme/herxing, but I can say without a doubt that finding a LLMD would be a good step in the right direction if you have suspicion of Lyme or co-infections like Babesia which is a parasite.

If your blood work from a respected lab like Igenex, Clongen or Fry comes back negative, a good LLMD will be able to evaluate your symptoms clinically to determine whether or not you have an infection that can be treated with either herbs or antibiotics. So don't worry too much about the test results. Worry more about finding a good doctor. Have you located a LLMD yet?

good morning NEW WAY,
I see you have alot on your plate, you will find alot of peace here on this site.
as you learn about lyme there will be times you feel its all too much, but after a while you will find what works for you.
I am also new to the lyme diagnosis, but a old timer to the symtoms of it.
I do not have good days and bad days, its weeks or months, during the bad times I sit and read and feel just like you said in your post, during the good times I look back and dont even recognize myself.
the answer to your question how to treat yourself is, GOOD! eat better, sleep more, stress less, more herbs, more detox, no alcohol, no steroids and above all a positive out look when ever you can!

Welcome to our community! I'm so very sorry for what you have had to go through up to this point, but the good news is that you are definitely NOT alone!! I'm so glad you found us!! Together, we all can get through this!

If you haven't already, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists (as Lyme rarely occurs by itself), helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, and a list of questions that you can ask any doctor that you are seeking treatment from!

We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge about our infections and the different ways to treat them! With these infections, knowledge is power!

I too would suggest that you see a Lyme Literate Practitioner - whether it's a Holistic Practitioner or a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor). We recommend for the most part for our members to stay away from ID doc's (Infectious Disease Docs) as they don't usually treat long enough and a few other things. Although there's not much help in finding a Lyme Literate Holistic Practitioner, the places below can help you find a LLMD:

You can start a new thread titled something like:"Looking for LLMD in the _______ area." This can be a good resource for finding whatever type of Practitioner you would like. Although you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference.

Thank you everyone. Thank you Traveler for the links and advice and info. Getting right on that. Going to post a thread as you suggested. I am using the Bentonite Clay detox stuff, oxycleanse, Vitamin C and another immune support supplement suggested so far. I do feel a bit of a difference with regards to some of the fatigue and bloated feeling.

Way too much neck and shoulder pain and stiffness but maybe it's related to the blizzard here. Off the chart sensitive to storms. I almost cannot function and I feel so sick to my stomach because the pain level is too much.

I appreciate all the support. I am beginning my search for a LLMD.

The full moon - which is tonight - also plays a role in our feeling crummy for a lot of us. Something else that may be affecting you too.

I would suggest that you use some heat on your neck and shoulders to see if it doesn't help at least a bit. I'm having a lot of neck and shoulder pain later as well, so you are far from alone!
