LLmd appointment tomorrow

Well I had a appointment in June, when I called and said how much worse I was getting, they moved up my appointment to tomorrow. This doctor was recommended , so I am going to give him a try. I am running out of patience, and I am out of money , so hopefully he understands how important it is for me to get better.

I haven't made it to work in two days, been in to much pain, and my legs aren't working well. I don't have anything to lose, so I will update you all tomorrow.

Glad that you got confirmation from a Dr.! Did you feel comfortable/confident in him? That is key w/ Lyme Treatment. What did he say about the seizures? What meds. are you going to be taking? I hope this is the beginning of your journey to truly healing!

Start treatment is Prescript-Assist Pro, transfer factor sensitive . I need to build up my immune system first, and work on the bio-films. Then when I am strong enough, I may start the doxy again. I am just not strong enough for that , or if I choose we can go the herbal route, which I prefer.

For the seizures I am going to start some different herbal meds, I have to find out what it is. I had him look over my herbals, and he was find with them, he wanted to add to them. He said one of the best things a person with Lyme can take is Cat claws.

I am happy you got your diagnosis. I had 17 years of lyme seizures.. I am very aware how real they are. After treating for a year with lyme disease, I stopped my seizure medicine because I forgot to take it. Low and behold, went 3 weeks before I noticed I didn't take the meds. November of 2012 I was off the seizure meds for a whole year and no seizures. Before if I missed my dose for more than 3 days, I was seizing. However, the brain does damage due to seizures. The rule of thumb is to have a clear EEG and be seizure free for 2 years before you can get off the meds. (If you are taking lyme meds).

I read an interesting article the other day, can't find it now, but many doctors think that is is Ehrlichia/anaplasmosis that maybe a culprit of seizures as well. If I can find the article, I will post the link.

His appt. fees are probably w/in the normal range, hopefully others will chime in. My first LLMD was over $300 an hour, way too expensive. My current LLMD is $172 per visit (not hourly), which I think is VERY reasonable compared to most LLMDs. Her initial consult appt. is a flat fee of around $300 (I would have to look it up to remember the exact amount).

I wouldn't like that he pushes his own herbals either, that would concern me and make me wonder whether the Dr. is pushing his own agenda. Both of my LLMDs (the first one and my current) have herbals and supplements in their office, but neither pushed for me to buy through them. They both said that they are able to order the products "at cost" so it's less expensive, but there is no push to purchase through them. My first LLMD had developed a supplement, sold through a compounding pharmacy. He was honest about his developing it, told me that he did not get any financial compensation, and said that I did not need to use his product unless I wanted to.

And my current LLMD basically said "look, you need have to take probiotics and saccromyces right now since you're on abx). I require those. The supplements are your decision and I just make a recommendation as to what might help".

I really would recommend that you go ahead and just get an appt. scheduled with the LLMD I e-mailed you about that's in Indiana for a couple of reasons: she's only a few hours from you, she has a good reputation, her and her staff are dedicated and compassionate, realistic about the costs of things, and the appt. fees are low. There is no cancellation fee, so you can go ahead and schedule since they are scheduling far out and just cancel if you end up getting better from your current LLMDs protocol (wouldn't that be awesome :o) !) Just a recommendation and I won't say anything more about it, LOL!

I just purchased a portable infrared sauna for $170. It's really helping me. I feel better for about 4 hours after I use it.

Yes, it's good to get the testing done and see how everything comes back. I would just be completely honest and upfront w/ your LLMD and explain that you can't pay for everything and ask what he thinks is absolutely necessary to start with.

I hope I got lucky with an LLMD. The first guy I tried was initial fee of $500 (though that did include some testing) but their were a lot of reviews that questioned his fees and methods so I kept looking and calling. $500 seemed to be the standard. And then I found someone that took a lot of insurance but didn't take mine. They set aside special days for patients that do not have insurance so the dr knows to treat them knowing they have to pay everything out of pocket. He also charges less, $120 for the first visit and $105 for followups (only and only if you do not have insurance or he doesn't take your insurance). And they said $275 for two IV bags. I'm not sure if that includes sitting at the drs office and having them do the picc line? I will find out, hopefully no picc line. They make me want to pass out. Just 18 more days til my appt!@ Whew.

THis is the one I got. It's the one that Deejavu uses and recommended to me. I am short and small. If you're taller, you would want to get the larger one. I sit on a small kids chair and my neck is still in the neck hole. It works well-I sweat like crazy!
