EBV and lyme connection and ?'s

After getting very ill with Lyme but undx, I went to an urgent care last December 2011 with a cold and fainting.  They did testing and said my EBV number were high but it was an old infection.  I have never been dx with EBV and wonder if it can cause issues like Lyme after the fact. 

And if anyone thinks that there is a correlation with it and Lyme as I have seen several posts about it.

ToddPaul is right-at some pt., you had mono. It remains in your body forever and can become active again if the immune system is under stress. Lyme causes stress on the body and immune system, which can allow EBV to become active. To heal from it, you need to get the Lyme into remission and heal from that so your immune system is stronger and can fight the viral infection.

Lyme Disease can re-activate Epstein Barr. From what my doc tells me most people have been exposed to EB at some point and carry the antibodies. When I tested positive for Lyme my IGG and IGM antibodies were very high for Epstein Barr, but my EBNA was negative. This means I could have had a recent infection or the Lyme reactivated it for some period of time. Last week I was tested again and it showed no active EBV. YAY! But be aware since EBV can be reactivated by LD. Obviously making you even sicker, and your body cannot fight the LD as effectively and intensify many of your existing symptoms. Talk to your doc about antivirals whether they are allopathic or homeopathic. You need your immune system to give you everything it can to fight the Lyme. Meaning getting the virus under control is a must.
