Hi guys, I have been noticing that some people say they take local honey. I am really foggy this week, so please forgive me if the answer is obvious :-)

Does local honey mean fresh, raw clover honey from a nearby farm?

Do you take it with meals?

A lot of people recommend local honey because it is supposed to be a reliever of local allergies. Aside from that I am not sure if there is a difference. Honey is quite the amazing substance. I believe it is one of the only substances that is kept properly will never spoil, ever. The only honey I would avoid is standard grocery store honey. They actually feed the bees sugar water (I believe) rather than have the bees forage b/c it takes less time.

I use local honey every day. Yes, you can use the local raw (which is best for health reasons) clover honey from a nearby farm.

As opugirl said, the stuff from the grocery stores any more isn't real honey. Something else that has become common is that high fructose corn syrup is being added to honey - makes something very valuable stretch a long way, lowering their cost to produce - but interfering with our health!

Thanks! A lot of the farms around here are closed during the winter, so I picked up a jar of organic raw honey from Trader Joe's.

Great!! Stick with it and you will see the benefits as well, but you must give it a few months. Then you will look back and be able to see how it's helped!
