Husband has iris inflammation was given steroid eye drops help! Don't know what to do!!

Hi, my husband was just diagnosed with Inflamation of the Iris. Which of course is a symptom congruent with Lyme disease. He had an IND test, mine was positive. His eye doc gave him steroid drops for his eyes. We know steroids are bad with Lyme, but are drops different than ingestible steroids!! Please help, we don't know what to do!!!! confused

"Steroid drugs (such as anti-inflammatory injections, steroid inhalers, eye drops, or cream) can cause severe worsening of Lyme Disease. Steroids basically disable the immune system and allow Lyme bacteria to reproduce and spread unchecked. It is absolutely critical for Lyme sufferers to stay away from any drug which contains steroid ingredients. steroid drugs can cause "permanent damage in people suffering from Lyme Disease."

Thank you for your response, we are just feeling at a loss. I don't want the inflation in my husbands eyes to get worse and we don't know how to treat this. Does anyone know oc a treatment that is non steroidal? Please help.

Thank you, my husband is going to call his eye doc tomorrow and see if she will prescribe an anti inflammatory eye drop instead! ;-)

I would suggest that he start on Turmeric and one other anti-inflammatory herb right away. I use turmeric and ginger to help with both nausea and inflammation and they do a wonderful job! It works on the whole body to bring down inflammation. Boswellin is another really good anti-inflammatory herb.
