Hi, I was just told over the phone by my physicians assistant that I had bloodwork that came back positive for Lyme Disease. She didn't tell me much else except that I will be seeing a neurologist in a week. I was tested because of daily migraines for the last month with an episode of paralysis 3 weeks ago. I don't remember having a tick bite and never had a rash although I do spend a lot of time outdoors.
I have been researching and have just felt like the more I read, the more confused I get!
We are in a pretty rural area and I get the feeling that the hospital here isn't used to this. I was in the process of being referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester to figure out my headaches when this test came back.
She did say a second test was done after the first came back positive.
I am looking for a doctor that knows what they are doing. Does anybody know anything about the doctors at Gundersen Luthern in La Crosse? I saw that they had some Lyme specialists but don't want to waste my time if they aren't any good. La Crosse is about 4 hours away.
Sorry if this is rambling, I think I am having quite a few of the cognitive symptoms, which is another reason my pa requested the test.
I just feel lost and confused and want to get the best treatment possible. I have a 11 month old, 2 1/2 year old and 9 year old and feel like I have not been being a good mother to them or good wife to my husband lately.
does anybody have any advice for me?
