Hi Kerri,
I used Dr. Jernigan's protocol (healing at home) as I didn't go to the Hansa Center. I'm not comfortable using the word "homepathy" because when I look it up on the net I get confused as I read different meanings! For example: like cures like.
Homeopathy is a medical science developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician. It is based on the principle that “like cures like”. In simple words, it means that any substance, which can produce symptoms in a healthy person, can cure similar symptoms in a person who is sick. This idea is referred to as the “Law of Similars“, and was understood by Aristotle and Hippocrates and mentioned in ancient Hindu manuscripts. It was Hahnemann, however, who turned it into a science of healing.
Anyway, no, I never herxed from the protocol and I felt a huge difference in the first month I started it. I kept it simple, I first used the biological medicine called Borrelogen, then about a month later I added one of the Neuro-Antitox formulas. Dr. David Jernigan grows his own botanicals, tests them, etc. So I felt really safe using his botanicals or biological medicine as he calls it.
Dr. J. believes in treating the body as a whole: mind, body, spirit. You will read in his book that if one is out of whack then the rest of the body can not heal. So not only did I have to address the lyme bacteria, I also was forced to look at my stress triggers and do something about that which I did. I made changes to my life so I would have less stress and to this day I'm glad I did!
One more thing, what I found fascinating is Dr. J. did a test called LUAT (Lyme Urine Antigen Test) that he sent to IgeneX. He sent urine samples (blind study) giving IgeneX urine where people used conventional antibiotics and urine where people only used Borrelogen (a botanical he invented and is part of the protocol).
Guess what? The Borrelogen urine had so much more "dead" lyme bacteria compared to conventional antibiotics. There is a link to that somewhere but you will probably read that in his book.
Good luck and let us know what you decide. My motto is one can always use conventional antibiotics.
WWJD20, so glad to hear of your healing process! Yes, that ammonia can do a number!
Hope this helps,
Denise
