New here...feeling really freaked out and angry

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I've been sick since May '12, got diagnosed in Sept. My doctor thinks I have Lyme and Bartonella since I have sore feet and swollen glands. I was on antibiotics for 3 months but decided to go off of it for a bit to let my body rest. I'm now treating with acupuncture, some herbs and all the usual diet, detox, etc.

I saw my acupuncturist today and I was feeling pretty darn good until he said that Lyme disease ebbs and flows and even though we have one of my major symptoms under control right now it may rear its ugly head again. This just knocked the wind right out of my sails. I know I probably shouldn't let it, but I was feeling like I wouldn't ever be dealing with that symptom again and the thought that it could come back just took me aback. I feel so vulnerable. This isn't like me at all. I've come through alot in my life, but this is wearing me down and I don't have nearly as many symptoms as some others so I feel bad complaining on top of it!

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say how lucky I feel that I was able to find a forum where everyone seems so helpful to eachother! That in itself gives me hope!

I'm reading alot about this Dr. Jernigan. I have ordered his book on amazon and am looking forward to learning more about treating naturally. Any suggestions regarding this would be so helpful.

lyme is a road we follow with no map or gps. its more like a kids game "your getting warmer" but Its no fun. Ive been chasing my tail with this at least 10 years. I'm tired, broke and almost beaten. (note I said almost) I read posts on the forum every morning and what ever my issue is for the day, somone else had me beat.
my point is keep your wind in your sail. on the days you feel good just feel good! yes another crapty day is coming but some day it will be less and less. I know alot of people with lyme, and they are well now, we will be there too!

I am sorry you have Lyme as well, it's a horrible disease. I have to believe we will get better all of us, it keeps me fighting on my worst days. I feel it's going to be a long road for me, but I am learning so much as I go along, how tough I can be.

Just hang in there on your worst days, I sometimes have one good day a week, and I enjoy that day like it's Christmas Morning. Other days I tell myself I will get through this, and I come on this site everyday , so many great people they give me Hope, and strength to fight Lyme. If you have questions just ask someone here usually has answer.

Violet, your post is so inspirational! Thank you!!!!!

My LLMD says she treats (w/ abx. and supplements and sometimes herbals) for a month or two after symptoms subside. She said that when she gets ready to stop abx., we will do everything we can to build up my immune system even more and she sometimes uses herbals after abx. are stopped.

I swear I'm going to copy and paste it to be able to reread it for the times I get down.
Positively has to be the most inspirational thing anyone has ever said to me about this disease in almost a year. What a nice gift.

yeah thanks violet, great post.

being so sick, I appreciate things , life more,

there has to be a cure or a more concise way to treat and heal from this, to be found, created soon! hope.

I am eating healthier than ever, almond milk and glutten free cereal from health food store, for example
it makes me appreciate flavors of food more, and all that i have

that i have the money at least so far, to get me this far and able to buy such foods

I have my up and downs every day, though

like in the film under our skin, what am i fighting for?
had to revamp my whole life, not an easy process, but I appreciate more things more

than ever, what I remember anyways...

being grateful brings in more good,

it is a process to be fine and then so sick,

Welcome! and it is really freaking frustrating to hear those words about symtoms cycling, etc. Even so, you can heal! I am loads better and on the way to 100 percent. Many already have, so we can, too :)

You mentioned Dr. Jernigan and his book. He is my doc, I went to Hansa in Oct. of this year and am getting follow-up treatment now. I am way better and feel I am in excellent hands! Highly recommend him and the treatment protocol. I also get acupuncture as a secondary treatment.

I agree, you are truly inspiring!  Interesting about your dental surgery, who knows if the lyme bacteria was hiding in your mouth and after the surgery it came roaring out? 

For many years I was upset that I lost the majority of my upper teeth when I was only 17 years old but perhaps it was partially a good thing since I didn't have the mercury and the lyme could only hide in half of my mouth?  I still think I responded to treatment much better since I only had a tiny bit of metal fillings in some of my bottom teeth...  Of course I don't know that for sure but I have thought about it.

Ahhh, it's a pondering thought morning....    And good luck with your book!  Fantastic!

Your posts in this thread are wonderful! I appreciate so much your talking about how there are many lyme like illnesses.. and how ebv, cmv, etc complicated your own picture. Its beyond tick borne diseases for so many. So many of us become so focused on Lyme and we get caught in the Lyme wars.. so and so says we have to treat x long on abx.. so and so says it's incurable.. so and so says it will take YEARS..so and so says on a LLMD/ND can help you, etc and sometimes we create our own realities.

So many people are walking around with various pathogens, it's the nature of this world. We are made of goodness and not so goodness ;).. but attitude is so important. Focusing on knowing our body was fearfully and wonderfully made and that there is hope and taking the best of everything available.. abx, herbs, alternative therapies like accupuncture, yoga.

Its so easy to get caught in the dark places of desperation. We do dangerous therapies, settle for questionable practitioners...give up.
