twinkl,
There are a couple of issues here with the testing. There are 2 strains of Babesia- microti and duncani (WA-1). Were you tested for both? If you were tested for one, but have the other one, then it would not show up as a positive. Some doctors have the misconception that the WA-1 is only found on the west coast, which isn't true. My daughter lives in Maryland, and she was tested for both strains, and found to have the WA-1. I insisted that she be tested for both strains, and her LLMD was a little miffed and surprised that my daughter's Electro-Dermal testing was correct.
Igenex is a great lab, and the Babesia tests are more accurate than the Borrelia tests from what I have heard. However, I doubt that the FISH test is 100% accurate either. Do you have any idea what the reliability % is for the FISH?
In the final analysis, it is wiser to weigh clinical symptomology more than uncertain test results. It would seem to me that your increased symptoms are a genuine herx reaction rather than a negative reaction to that herb.
