the doctor office called this morning, to talk about my results from the blood work i had done on feb 20th on my follow up app. she said Im still positive for the two bands of lyme and that my CD 57 is 20!! shakehead I guess that means I have along road ahead of me, which is fine, Im just a little scared, but I HAVE TO STAY STRONG. does anyone knows if 20 is really really bad? I found somewhere online that 20 is like very ill or something like that. I know that below 60 means chronic lyme, which for my symptoms I knew I had, so Im not too upset cause I kinda knew, but it's still sad.

I cannot answer your question, but I wanted to know how you got your results for cd57? Was it a simple blood test?

Hon, I know it sounds scary, but knowledge is power! My cd 57 counts were low, although I do not recall how low. In fact my whole immune system markers...from the lymphocyte subset..were all very low a few years ago. Now normal! also cd57 was in fact a bit high last time it was tested.


also...I know of several people who literally thought they were going to die..from lyme..who are now very much better. One was in a wheelchair and could not walk/carry on a conversation. Now is walking and talking. SO..the point is that people get well who are really freaking sick!! if they can, you can :) don't let a number on lab test get you down :)

I read the same thing on the internet: <20 is severely ill. I myself have 15. I try to just consider it as a confirmation of having Lyme. I already knew I was severely ill rolleyes - lol smilewinkgrin

Good to hear that the immunity markers can really become normal again, Nan.

Mine is under 20 also. At ILADS this year, they said it can fluctuate daily between about 60 points. However, I did my baseline tests a month apart and both of them were within 2 points of each other.

I don't think it necessarily predicts how long it will take to recover.
