CCSVI info and my experience

A couple of people asked about CCSVI on one of the threads, but I can't find it now! so here is some info

I had the procedure done successfully in October. Just had a follow-up MRI showing that the veins are still clear.

What is CCSVI? for those who do not know, it is an outpatient procedure that is kind of a venous angioplasty. Balloons are sent up through constricted jugular (or other)veins to unblock them. This appears to be a fairly common occurence in lyme patients..the infections cause constriction in the veins. In my case they were so constricted that blood was backflowing into the brain (as seen on MRI).

I had head pressure as a symptoms, although not sever, but constant. The CRT scan at Hansa was where I first learned that this might even be an issue. It helped with the head pressure for sure.

Marie: wow, I do not know! I honestly do not know how to diagnose (or all the symptoms) except the way I had it done at Hansa via CRT...then it was confirmed with an MRI. Head pressure can be a sign..but that can be due to other reasons also.

Best advice I can give is to find a doc who knows about it. If you want the name of the clinic I went to for the procedure, I can give it to you on email. They might be able to help.
