I was on it for 4 weeks. I am grateful to say that I am absolutely fine now, the only symptom I had that continued on after we're red, painful knees when standing. Initially I thought the worst - that the lyme hadn't fully gone - but it turned out to be cellulitis caused by other bacteria and subsequently resolved with the appropriate antibiotic treatment. I do very occasionally get an itchy bite area, but I am not too concerned.

Where I highlighted among other snippets: "After a tick bite, serologic tests (ELISA. IFA, western blots, etc.) are not expected to become positive until several weeks have passed. Therefore, if EM is present, treatment must begin immediately, and one should not wait for results of Borrelia tests. You should not miss the chance to treat early disease, for this is when the success rate is the highest. Indeed, many knowledgeable clinicians will not even order a Borrelia test in this circumstance."
