I was wondering about recovery time rates for chronic lyme disease sufferers. It seems the people who post here have been trying to get well for a very long time.

Do you think some people with chronic lyme start with the meds and suppliments and get better at a much faster rate or does it take a long time for most?

I am secretly hoping you will all say that some get well really fast :-)

Some people DO get well fast! I know someone who had chronic Lyme and she was cured after 4 months of antibiotics.

I think it helps to take an integrative approach - treating the bacteria, detoxing, eating right, getting good quality sleep, etc.

I found that heat helps the legs pain, I take hot baths.

I use turmeric and drink ginger, it takes the edge off.

I hope you get well.

Since the four years of being ill with this severe pain I had never had one single day of relief except when I had a sinus infection and was given biaxin. Oh and prednisone for a chest infection, those two helped me but my doctors all told me I was mistaken.

Since you did so well on the abx, seems like if the doctors would put you on them you would improve.

I never tried biaxin, so I don't know how that would work for me. I hope you find a doctor that will give you the treatment you need to get well.

My family dr told me it was my imagination for getting leg pain relief from biaxin. He said because I felt better from the sinus infection then I felt better all over. I don't think I could explain this leg pain in detail if I tried. He just has no clue and does not give a darn. I am in Canada so he could not help me even if he had a brain.

Hi One pixel. Things got really bad for me in January. I had an acute onset in October and things progressively got worse to where I lost ten lbs (down to 87lbs but back up to 95 now), had severe insomnia (1-2 hrs night), nausea, fevers, brain fog, heart stuff. I put myself back on abx and I was OK but still quite unwell through March. I started treatment with LLMD in march and am doing much better. Still have the heart stuff but I have a lot of energy now. Still some bad days, still some minor herxing but to answer you YES - some of us lucky dogs recover pretty rapidly.

Have you considered a new doctor? The last thing you want is someone who is not on your side. I was diagnosed in Dec, tried abx and my body fell apart. Started a more natural approach in March and have seen a shift. Someone said earlier the whole body must be addressed. Sounds like the Biaxin was doing a good job with the bacteria.

Well I am in Canada. Doctors are not allowed to treat chronic lyme. I am just starting the natural way too.
