I've been reading some of the posts here and it is making me more concerned (maybe a good thing!)
I live in Mississippi in a very wooded area with pastures and tall grasses. In the last few months, I have had 3 known tick bites (pulled tick off) that have not developed a ring and 1 unknown sore that had the characteristic, but light, bullseye on my neck. When I saw the bullseye spreading, I went to my GP and she said it is lyme based on visual. I never saw a tick there. She started me on Doxycyline 100 mg 2x per day for 3 weeks. The rash has faded after 3 days of abx, but today I am extremely tired, sore, achy. I was diagnosed years ago with Fibromyalgia and rheumatoid, but for the most part, it stays under control. I know Lyme isn't common in MS, but I from the maps I've seen, STARI is, however, there are documented cases here. I know one of the ticks I pulled off was a Lone Star tick. I never really paid attention to the others.
At this point, what are your suggestions? Continue with the Doxycycline and see if things get better? Start searching for a LLMD and get an appointment for testing? How can you tell the difference in STARI and Lyme? I haven't searched the posts for STARI yet...only know what I've read on other websites.
