Hi Shepo!
Welcome to our little community!! If you haven't already, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,
"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists (as Lyme rarely occurs by itself), helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, and a list of questions that you can ask any doctor that you are seeking treatment from!
We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge about
our infections and the different ways to treat them!
In response to your asking about
the test results, any blood test that relies on the immune system for detection has a 50% chance of a false negative occurring - so we don't rely on those tests. The best LLMD's will rely on symptoms and possibly an antibiotic challenge. An abx challenge is when a doc gives a couple of weeks of abx in the proper dose for tick-borne infections and they wait to see if that person herxes (an increase in symptoms or new symptoms appear). A herx means that the person has Lyme - but not everyone that has Lyme will herx.
You can find some information about
the Multiplex B Burgdorferi Serum in this thread (thanks to Opugirl!):
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=2580476 The bulls eye rash alone is diagnostic of Lyme disease though - it's the skin form of the disease, so no blood testing is even necessary. She has Lyme if she had a bulls eye rash.
She needs to get treatment. Have you chosen a protocol that you would like for her to follow? We have quite a few members here that have used most of the different protocols that are effective against these infections - so no matter which one you choose, chances are there is someone here that can talk with you about
it!
