Oh my...I started Bart treatment, an herbal tincture through DesBio suggested by my herbalist/nutritionists. I take one vial every 3 days. I have taken 2 vials so far and just a bit ago it felt crazy under my face. Almost like a ripple. She said I would herx. Just praying my face isn't effected.

Anyone else gone through Bart treatment and experienced twitches and thing in their face and jaw tightness.

This has got to stop. I'm still going out with my son and pray for the best :-)

I just keep telling myself that this is all temporary.

Yes, I have! And yes, it is disconcerting -- and downright weird!

Have experienced, twitching, tingles (esp. in the chin, around the eyes) and even "pinches" and aches in various parts of the face at different points in treatment (started treatment June 2012)

My first major symptom (March 2012) was a bells palsy type thing so I guess it makes sense that I have had issues in the face all along. I also get "random" pain in some teeth now and then.

I am pretty sure I was bit March 1 (2012) IN FORT LAUDERDALE!!!; so I was shocked by how quickly the facial stuff started - by mid-March. Very disturbing!

At my worst (spring, summer 2012) I think some of this facial stuff was visible to others, but sometimes it is only something I can feel.

I have never been sure what is due to bart and what to lyme (or even the babesia!)

The various pains and sensations have often surfaced/resurfaced after starting a new antibiotic (rifampin, zithromax, septra, suprax . . .). Most recently, some of these things came back (but milder!) when I started the Byron White A-Bart. But once again, they seem to be subsiding once my body gets used to the new substance.

Long story short: I am really sorry you have to suffer this. It stinks.

But you are not alone!

Yeah, I've had facial sensations since October, one of my first symptoms before I knew what the heck was wrong. But today was disturbing. I'm trying to remain positive, keep the faith and believe that the Bart is being eradicated. My gums feel funny sometimes and my jaw down into my throat.

We still went out today to the Farmers Market and the store :-), drove around a bit to get some air. I refuse for this disease to take away my life :-(

Glad its not just not me, I hope you're getting better and that your healing is around the corner.

I have woke up twice with my head bubbling. No pain, no heat, just bubbling inside. It's a unique feeling.

I honestly don't know if healing is around the corner . . . Byron White has thrown me for a loop -- after 10 months of pretty aggressive orals.

I know there are many who have been sick longer than I have ("only" 1 year!), but the past few weeks have been kind of discouraging. So much of my day is spent trying to manage all this and everything is kind of a hassle. Just when you start feeling pretty darn good, crazy stuff surfaces . . .

Every time my husband suggests doing something, my first thought is: how big a hassle will it be to fit this in with the never-ending "protocol"?

So I admire your refusal to let this all dominate and your determination to get to the market!

From what I understand, lyme/co-infections like to attack the T nerve in the face. I have had all sorts of bizarre sensations in my face. Horrible tightness across my forehead and bridge of nose. Extreme pressure around my eyes and twitching of the bottom part of eyelid. Tingling/grabbing/pulling sensations in my cheek areas. Also, an uncomfortable tightness around my chin and jaw. It literally felt like something foreign was trying to come out of my face. Before I knew this was lyme, I thought I had a horrible fungal sinus infection, because bacterial sinus antibiotics were not helping.

Lyme2013 that's how my face feels and the symptoms are magnified due to treatment. Tris...yep we still went out. :-) thanks for the kudos!

I pray these symptoms will go away as I continue Bart treatment.

Managing these supplements is a mess. I told my nutritionist to please review because I think I'm on too much stuff.

So glad I'm not alone...we will get through this!

sometimes one side of my face is without feeling, totally numb - are like ants crawling around under my skin. Or one side feels cold. Feeling of very thight skin too, especially on my forehead. or just very painful skin on the top of my head, like heavely burnt - brushing hair is very painful.

Lots of facial sensations in my case...

Oh Marie that sounds painful, I'm so sorry :-( I would love to hear from folks that could help us out...what did any of you do out there on the forum to help with the facial tightness, twitches, sensations etc...does it just gradually go away with treatment?

the sensations have subsided with treatment . . . only to come back at times, esp, if I try a new drug or herb. But they do seem to be less noticeable with time. So I guess that is good news!

So yes, I think that treatment is definitely improving this. But like all things with these crazy infections, it is not a straight line of progress, at least for me.

Now that I think about it: one of my worst memories was being at my PCP and insisting that "my chin really hurt". She of course just looked at me like I was nuts! But you have all seen that movie.

WWJD that is how I feel, maybe this will pass once the treatment kicks it's you know what :) I hope you feel better.

I had to fire my first PCP...she thought I had stress and anxiety back in October when I told her about the twitches and neuropathy. Crazy...

Praying that during treatment this symptom will pass away...matter of fact I'm claiming it! It will pass!!!! :-) I just hate the feeling.
