even the kindest people don't understand...

Kind person #1: "There's something about pain that brings you present." In fact, pain is not really my issue... It's air hunger, disorientation, dizziness, nausea, fatigue... And the only times I feel "present" or even lucid are the days I feel alright.

Kind person #2: "Can you really focus on your treatment right now or do you have a lot to do in the next 2 months?" As if I still have a choice to do things as opposed to facing my illness.

It's almost hardest when people mean well and they still say the absolute wrong things. It's alienating. I'm trying to stay centered on what I know I need to do the next couple months, despite a huge lack of understanding by the people around me.
