new to the forum

 

    Hi Everyone!

I have been using this forum for over a year. I finally feel that I have enough experience to be of some help to others. Also there have been so many times that I have dealt with the symptoms and problems associated with lyme disease that all of you have.

I had a tic bite in 2007, saw and removed the tic, had the classic rash and was treated with 2 weeks of doxy. From that point, my story is like so many of yours.

It is a little overwhelming to go through the whole story now but I'll be happy to elaborate when needed.

Currently, I have been seeing a LLMD and a cardiologist due to lyme myocarditis.

My LLMD Is prescribing IV antibiotics, supplements and herbs. Oh yeah, I also have Babesia.

This forum has helped me so much that I hope to give back!

I also want to welcome you to our community. We are really happy to hear that we have been of assistance to you in the past. Hearing that type of comment sure makes us feel that our labors here are not in vain. Every one of us has a similar story. When you combine all of the various experiences of our members, quite a think tank is created. We welcome your participation.

It looks like your treatment is already well underway. One thing that you haven't mentioned is detoxing. I hope that you are detoxing to eliminate the toxins that are excreted by the die-off from the microbes. Doing this will serve to make the healing process more tolerable. If you haven't already, please take a look at the thread entitled "New to Lyme?....Start Here!" This thread addresses various issues that are good to know about when you have the illness. It also has a large section on detoxing.

We have a great group of friendly members that are eager to get to know you! If I could be so bold to ask you- what state do you live in?

Anna, did your doctor think the Malarone caused your CHF? If not, what was his/her reason for not putting you back on the Malarone? I am going to ask my LLMD about artemisinin during my next appointment.

It's great to see you feeling better. As I understand, Babesia is harder to treat......ugh!!!! I feel like a wet noodle. My whole body is so very weak. My mind tells me I should be doing something but I absolutely cannot at this time.

I am glad you came out of hiding....LOL.

The LLMD that was supposed to be overseeing my case (I was seeing an NP in his office) must not have reviewed my files for a month or two. I brought to the attention of the NP lab results that seemed very odd, I was told they had nothing to do with lyme. I also had some alarming new symptoms weight gain of 15-20 lbs, excessive thrist, swelling in my feet and others that I had not had. The reason I even found out that I had CHF was that my sister had an abnormal EKG and her dr said I should have one for a routine check. After 3 years of being really sick my family was finally was worried about me! I actually had a "real health problem." I went to the cardiologist on my lunch break and left worrying that I would be put on the heart transplant list.

You should have seen the doctors running for cover!! Somehow in all of the panic to save me, the LLMD basically dropped me (my cardiologist did not really believe it was lyme ) and I was given the name of an ID that wasn't interested in treating me.

The end result of all is that I do have myocarditsis and my Ejection Fraction is 40%, normal is 60%. I take 2 medications daily to control it.

Sorry the answer was so long... I just didn't want you to worry about something that happened under really individualized circumstances. As usual lyme has so many stories to tell.
