I am new to this forum.

I have had Lyme for a long time. Have done some antibiotics, herbs etc., but I realize that I need a good Lyme doctor to orchestrate my care.

I live in Chicago Illinois & Illinois is not a "Lyme-friendly" state.

One person suggested Klinghart, but aside from the fact that he doesn't have an opening for a year, a 4-day treatment they offer at Sophia costs $3K-$5K. Yep, $3,000-$5000!

Other recommendations were Dr Jemsek in DC or Dr. R in NJ. Apparently, Dr R (neurologist) will bill insurance so he is probably the most affordable.

If anyone has had good or bad experiences with the docs listed above, please share. I already read posts on this forum that some were disapointed with Sophia.

Has anyone gone to Dr R in NJ?
Does anyone have suggestions on docs in the midwest?

So have you been to a LLMD and it didn't just work out or is it more of you were given one month of abx and then have been self treating.

Unfortunately We are not allowed to use Drs names on here to protect their privacy. When you get a moment if you wouldn't mind changing it to Dr. J (though everyone on here knows who Dr. J is :) ) and Dr. R.

Would you try homeopathy? I have a few names of naturopaths out there that I'm sure can point you in the right direction somewhere closer to home.

I can only suggest searching the ILADS website for a recommended LLMD in the area of your choice.

I use Dr J in DC, but its too early to tell. I've had two appts so far and they went well. I think the two appts cost a total of $800.
On an abx schedule now, and I've had unbelievable herxing.
