Antinuclear antibody titer...help?

I just had this test done. My result was 1:80 dilution with a speckled pattern. I have had lyme and Bart for over 8 months. Can anyone help explain this test and what that result means?

It means you have titers indicative of some type of connective tissue issue and they will likely run more tests to rule out things like lupus, ra, etc.

This is very very common with Lyme patients and does not mean you have an auto immune disease.

Our daughter had just the result you have.

Her pediatrician ruled out lupus, but could give me no further advice. When we found out she had lyme, it finally made sense; lyme has an affinity for connective tissue. Although when I took the results back to the pediatrician she refused to consider lyme/bartonella as the cause.

Our daughter does suffer from an autoimmune reaction from her infection, but it effects the basal ganglia of her brain (PANDAS/PANS) producing neurological symptoms including Tourettes. She has had no connective tissue symptoms so far.
