Hi and welcome. Your ELISA must have been positive so they do a follow up Western blot even though that coupled with symptoms should be enough for a positive diagnosis. You should get a copy of the WB because there could be key positive bands yet they still call it negative because of the overly strict guidelines the CDC requires for a positive test.
You really need to see a Lyme-literate doc and do the Western Blot through a reputable lab like IGenex. That's the only way you'll get a diagnosis if you suspect Lyme and get the proper treatment.

It means you more likely than not have Lyme but a poor test was used for the Western Blot. So I agree with ToddPaul, IGeneX should be the lab through which you get tested again, and only an LLMD or LLND can really fully understand the nuances of diagnosing Lyme given test results like what you've experienced.

Thank you for the responses. I am very nervous about
these findings. Can anyone recommend a doctor in the Rhode Island or Massachusetts area that specializes in Lyme diagnoses and treatment?

Hi Carjenben,
If you would please, enable your email option through your profile so that others can send you suggestions. We don't allow doctor's names to be posted on this site (most other Lyme sites do the same thing) because they are so very persecuted for using the treatments that actually work on us! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the submit button to save your choices!

I second getting tested through Igenex. Infectolabs is another lab.
Be sure to always get copies of anything and everything you ever have tested.
